The memory and story of your brother will live on through you and his family (if any). Consider yourself lucky. I have always wished to have a brother/sister to grow up with, to fight with, and to cry for.
Sorry to hear about your loss. In reading the story, it seems the hospital could have done better. Two infections? At least one from the equipment? Another thing I don't understand is why do people in hospital catch pneumonia? Is that another infection?
