I remember him stepping under someone on a jump shot that caused them to sprain their ankle really bad maybe 2 years ago that was a really big deal as well.

It was a big deal because he didn't attempt to jump and change the shot at all, he just stepped under him and he landed right on bowens foot. I'm think it was Vince Carter but don't remember exactly.

Granted he might have some dirty moments, but I like the physical nature he brings to the game. He grabs and pulls and gets under everyones skin. Not going to let you do whatever you want. NBA should be a little more physical. Everyone should have to learn to live with as much physical contact as Yao sees every night.

I think he shows everyone who the b****es of the league are. The true superstars just call him a pest but do not b**** about him all day long. IIRC Kobe and T-mac have just said that he is a pest on defense and is annoying but do not cry to the media about him. Ray Allen on the other hand, crys like a little baby about everything.

Like it or not, grabbing and pulling on the perimeter on defense is against the rules.

Karate kicking someone in the face is not acceptable on a basketball court, no matter how 'physical' you like the game.

Ray Allen, Vince Carter, etc. complain because Bowen could SERIOUSLY injure someone on the court. I don't see why more people don't get this.

How would you feel if Bowen kicked T-Mac in the back, and Tracy's back locked up in spasms because of it?

I also don't see how you can say that Bowen shows "who the b****es in the league are" when he's the one who undercuts other players when they shoot jumpers and flops at every opportunity. If that's not a b**** way to play, I really don't know what is.

    You forget Dennis Rodman.

I hate dirty players. It's one thing to be physical. It's another thing to try to injure someone on the court intentionally. Undercutting is the dirtiest play in basketball. It doesn't look violent. But it can cause serious injury. That's why Boki was so pumped when Malone undercut him on a break away dunk.

He hurt VC, Kobe, and Allen pretty bad. I love tough defense, but with a mind to hurt people, especially undercutting those high flying jumpers, or Malone's knee or kicking kind of actions have to be stopped and penalized heavily. Because there is no way that's unintentional, similar to drink-and-drive. Once TD was asked about Bowen, and he admitted that he's dirty. It's a joke that he has been rewarded for his tough defense. I don't care how much time he spent to read books to kids, it's a ball game, you will get beat and others are going to score from time to time. That mentality of stopping your opponents by all means should never be encouraged. I fault the league, those refs, coaches, as much as guys like Bowen.

He can seriosly endanger players' careers with his way of playing. The people cheering for him for his "toughness", which he has none btw, needs to be hanged.

I completely agree. It's one thing physical and play SOLID DEFENSE. It's a whole other thing to play MALICOUS DEFENSE. AK47, Ben Wallace, Alonzo, and Artest are all great defenders. They take care of business, impact the game, and at most hurt your pride. But they don't put you, your career, and your body in danger--especially not on purpose. Pro-Bowen supporters either too ignorant to realize he's out to hurt others, or just plain immature.

Bruce Bowen... is a dirty player and he gets away with everything... i think he has some good relationship with the league or something because if steve francis gets fined like 46,000 for opening his mouth... and JVG 100,000 for doin the same.... shouldnt Bruce Bowen get fined for kickin the sh** out of players???

i'll admit the kick to wally's face was funny, but totally uncalled for

when is somebody, i nominate kenyon martin or deke, gonna give this guy a hard foul that he'll remember for the rest of his life and while they're at it, give one to ginobli too and give him a real reason to collapse on the ground instead of all the soccer flopping he does
