Rockets might be able to keep two of the three out of Harris, Wafer, and Strawberry. That is if they can move Head for a TE.

Head for a TE would create salary space for Deke, one of the above players for the full season, plus another of the above players until January 10 (If guaranteed amount is under $200k)

The scenario above is possible if McGrady's contract is for $19.1M as estimated by the Chron and not the $21.1M listed elsewhere.

Memphis will be the game of their future. Either they perform well in the game, or they get cut. From what I saw, Harris seems to have performed the least. Wafer has done a very good job on a consistent basis, maybe its a steal for us? Strawberry looks pretty good against the Thunders, but maybe its because he played against the thunders.

I really like Harris, but so far he hasn't done much outside the paint. I really want him to stay, but talent wise his role is just not suited for the Rockets. Perhaps RA will let him play against Memphis, and he will explode?

I thought Wafer for sure played himself right off this team last night. He did nothing but jack and made some really dumb decisions last night. I cringed every time he touched the ball.

    agreed.
strawberry probably fills the biggest need because he can guard pgs, sgs and some sfs. but any one of the 3 is going to be inactive the majority of the year, so I wouldn't lose sleep over cutting all 3.

Wafer and/or Strawberry are easy cuts.

They are 10 day contract guys, not players you need to stash away on the roster.

I don't think it really matters who gets cut b/c they probably weren't going to get any signicant time anyway. We do need to resign Mutumbo, though, and I prefer Mike Harris over D.J. and Wafer.

Not tough cuts at all. Wafer and Strawberry need to be shown the door. They each had, what, one decent preseason game and everyone's clamoring to toss out proven commodities. I'll take Mike Harris over both of them any day.

Wafer was probably the most consistent to be honest. Besides last game (which he wasn't horrible in), he did a good amount of scoring work. In fact, the one that showed up the most is definately Wafer to be honest, of course the only thing that concerns us is his catch and shoot no matter what attitude (even though he does make them). If he can keep up with that, then he is a great weapon to have.

    easy cut.

There will not be time to gain from harris who is a 3/4. He be the 4th option in both case.

    SF- Artest,battier and tmac.
    PF- Scola.,landry and hayes.

About wafer, if your main strength is scoring, and all you do is .375 shooting, 8 points in 23 mins, average more turnover than assist. I cant see him in the roster.

I have no idea why, but i still like what DJ strawberry brings albeit what he brings is very limited.
He tried to hard yesterday, but you can see that he contributes in the defense end. With his athleticism and size.

I think Harris is the proven commodity, but I have to agree that his position is already deep and there isn't much point in keeping him around. Since we're only keeping one, my prediction is von Wafer. But really, we could cut all 3 and not notice.

    Strawberrys defense is overrated.

We should cut all three. Harris is the best player out of all of them, but we're deep enough at his position(s) to go without him. I think they're all good enough to find jobs in the league, though. Too bad none of them bring what we need.

Hehehe when I turned on the game, there were about 7 minutes left. I saw that play, which essentially cost us the game. Pre-season, yes, but why would anyone be led to believe that he would do anything any differently in a regular-season game as he did last night? A steal, and then he decides to do a 1-on-4 fast break with the game on the line?

As soon as I saw that play, I was thinking to myself 'Well, there's one easy cut.. see ya DJ!'

Keep Wafer or Strawberry, cut Harris, trade Head, and sign Deke. That would be a good way to go.

Two players need to be cut because we have 17 on the roster(I included Mutombo). Head isn't going anywhere. As much as most of us(including me) don't like him or want him for whatever reason he stays by default. The ideal situation would be to trade Head for a pick and cut Strawberry. That would leave Harris, Wafer, and Dorsey on the injured reserve or D-League incase we need to go that deep.

My personal opinion would be to still trade Head and Francis for Joe Smith and cut Strawberry. Then we could send Dorsey to the D-League.
