But that was in 2008, Craig Brackins (2nd rounder this year) was projected as a lottery pick that year as well. I bet if Pekovic was in this years draft he would fall to the second round.

The guy is a low post player, who is heavily dependent on size and strenght advantages at the European level. Which he won't have when he comes here, and people on this thread still want to give up a lottery pick for this guy ... SMH

Everything you can say about him you can say about Marc Gasol, which most of us would kill for to back up Yao. Drafted in the 2nd round, dependent on size and strength. When will people realize that where you're drafted doesn't freaking matter. Scola was drafted later than any of these guys and he's arguably the best. Does anyone give Budinger crap about his draft position anymore?

I have been trying to find good basketball info so that i could do my own pretend scouting thing. I was wondering what different sources you get info from. My only sources are the usual ones, mostly CLUTCHFANS believe it or not.

As I'm reading in Spain, it seems Real Madrid has offered him a deal for 3 years, but he's also looking for playing in the NBA. A source of mediocre reliability says this:

"The player has one year left on his contract with Panathinaikos and from the other side of the Atlantic, the Houston Rockets, considering the physical problems of Yao, filter a possible bid closer to five million per season, numbers that do appear sufficient to lead the player to the American adventure."

So...this rumor is actually not fiction? We got a real source this time.

It would be more convincing if the story - report was dated before June 13, 2010.

this seems the strategy of every European FA right now...having the publicity that they would sign with an nba team, etc...in the end, they would use this as a leverage and then sign a bigger with their Euro mother club.

In my opinion 5 millions per year is absolutely not credible, no way the Rockets offer more than 3-4 at most. However, I sense the interest in the player may be true, but just intuiton.

Notice the date of the article. It's after Rocket Scientist/Ming planted his BS on various forums and blogs.

He tried to pull the same stunt on Interbasket but those guys are really from Europe and called him out from the word on.

Except it's a fake post by a former Rocket poster and not by a european FA.

I love how you assume everyone who was drafted in the second round and from Europe will become as good as Scola and Marc Gasol. Gasol and Scola aren't just dependent on size and strength, they have some very good post moves, Gasol is a traditional back-to-the-basket player and Scola has amazing all-around game. None of them are pure strength brutes like Shaq.

I doubt Pekovic has a game like Gasol, he's not the shotblocker Gasol is and his game reminds me more of the Polish hammer than Gasol. We're aren't bringing him to a rookie contract either, we're gonna pay him the MLE. Not saying I'm not in favor, but he definitely need a closer look first.

Why would we want another pg? And one that makes more than Brooks and Lowry? Rubio I can understand, but Sessions is not better than Brooks or Lowry.

    What I don't get is why y'all aren't excited about Andersen's 2nd year.
