I agree with this thread. Harden needs to keep cool and to an extent, CP3 will help with that. With CP3, we can bench Harden and let him cool off.

With all due respect, this is silly. Briante Weber is not the key to a championship formula; he is not the difference between Harden being mentally prepared for the playoffs or not; Briante Weber is not going to help us in any way at this point.

Harden going ice cold or getting hurt is a far greater concern than our alleged inability to run him into the ground during practices, even if we accept the idea that an exhausted Harden is what we want (which, btw, we don't).

Sorry, I forgot to add: Briante Weber is the key to a championship formula, and we need to exhaust Harden and run him into the ground.

As far as hiring someone to TORTURE Harden. I think you can look to someone who played secondary in the NFL and have it be just as effective as an NBA player, if not more so.

Not a bad idea. I feel he is starting to turn the corner, the Toronto game was physical and tough. He was the only one who stepped up to the plate with 40 points. He almost single handedly brought us to victory from a huge deficit on the road in a hostile environment. Go Harden!
Believe in yourself and the team.
    Go Houston Rockets!

So you want to "torture" Harden with a "trash-talking, space-taking, jersey-grabbing, arm-slapping, offensive-foul-faking defender in his face for 94 feet, every possession" guy who will do all this while not exhausting Harden? I don't think that's physically possible

Fair points. We certainly saw Doc's Clippers do the 94 feet treatment to BOTH Harden and CP. Doc knows CP well and I think "wearing down" Harden and CP "just bringing the ball up" means something.

The onus is on the coaches to make sure they can PASS the ball up to get into their offensive sets.

The Rocket are going to be "held" on out of bounds plays. The onus is on the coaches to come up with good routes for the players to create separation.

It is about preparation for these tactics.

Harden has a few faults (as does every player). The HOPE is, that having CP helps mitigate those faults.

I hate the palms facing up, mouth agape look of shock he gives when a bad call is made. Shake it off G, and roll it back. Can't be looking like a ho when things don't go well.

Although Harden needs rest, I believe it's essential for him to play at a very high level in the last tough games of the regular season. This will give him the confidence that he needs before going going in the playoffs. He should play against OKC, the Wizards and the Spurs on
the road as well as against the upcoming Lakers. We will need him
against the Suns, if Devon Booker plays in my opinion. 25-30 mins a game for sure to keep him
ready. Ideally, he needs to rest in
these games, but we don't have a choice.

This is a hole in Harden's game that CP3 will/already has begun to fill. CP3 is the best leader the Beard has been able to learn from

No, i dont think that is a bigger issue than....

Him going up weak and then not getting a foul call, then slouching on the other end of crying..... while the other team is taking the ball the other way and making a run.

THAT IS HIS BIGGEST PROBLEM WHEN IT COMES TO THE PLAYOFFS.

HE JUST NEEDS TO BE SUPER AGGRESSIVE.

The biggest hole harden had was the team around him. Not only he was the only superstar but he was also the only playmaker as well. All this time the team and coaching staff was too dependent on him and was running him to the ground just to get the best seed possible.

Les morey tilman cp3 mda n jeff all know this. Thats why all this happened:

    1. Morey locked up harden to a 6 year max extension
    2. Morey aquired cp3
    3. Les cashed put tilman bought in for 2b
    4. Morey got tucker n lma
    5. Morey tried his best to swap ryno for melo
    6. Mda staggered hardens and cp3s minutes
    7. Mda reduced hardens minutes by 1 compared to last year
    8. Morey added gg/jj
    9. Mda further reduced hardens minutes by 2 compares to last year

All those moves are to surround harden with a team that has the best chance to compete for a ring

Maybe they can put in drills in practice where they full court press him or play in your face defense on certain positions on the court, so he gets used to it. It doesn't have to be crude just to tire Harden out.
