Warriors need a big physical SG because the only experienced 2 guards they have now are Jason Richardson and Bob Sura. I predict he may earn backup SG to Richardson soon enough.
There's a good article about this from the San Francisco paper that DAROrockets posted yesterday in the NBA Dish. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2002/10/28/SP108183.DTL It's got a good explanation of why. Jiri Welsch, Bob Sura and Chris Mills are all nursing injuries. With Jamison and Dunleavy at the 3, and Jason Richardson primed for stardom, that backup SG spot looks really competitive. Good luck Oscar. I'd suggest to stop shooting the ball everytime you get it and concentrate on becoming a defensive wiz like Hawkins. I think we got the better man, all-around.
I personally think OT would not have been cut if he spoke better English. I think the Rockets only wanted one interperter per season. DD
It's great to hear the Oscar found a home. Great guy and Attitude and still don't know why Rudy cut him loose.
DaDa, I thought the same thing, but I am keeping an open mind. The guys may have outplayed OT in practice or management may have been comfortable that there is enough interest for OT out there, so let us let him go.
More on the Oscars move to Golden State... Tim Roye the Warriors Radio Play by Play guy emailed me and said they have signed Oscar Today and they're really excited about having him. He will come off the bench and he can shoot so he may get some time right away. another rocket killer on the loose
