Check my link above. If you could set up a torrent program, you can download from usenet.

When I last used usenet 5 years ago, Giganews had the best combination of speeds and retention...don't know if that is the case anymore.

Kinda funny, usenet was the king of binaries for years and years going back to the mid-90s, then everyone started gravitating towards torrents.....now it's back to usenet again.

Usenet has its own set of issues, so for you guys\gals that are new to it....be prepared to deal with a whole different set of issues to get your pirated stuff. It isnt like torrents in that you just download the file and click it to get it to work...I'm not sure what packing format is being used now, but it used to be dominated by pars and rars since big files have to be divided up into many smaller files to allow for good propagation across multiple usenet servers.

I've always stuck by Usenet. Just can't beat the speed and convenience.

I don't know how it used to be, but the usenet search engines provide a .nzb file that will be read by your newsreader and download the appropriate files. As far as the RARs and PARs, they still exist, but my newsreader (SABnzbd) automatically checks the download after downloadind, repairs if it needed, extracts the file(s) from the RAR and then deletes all the PAR and RAR files. Very easy and very convenient.

Sure, hook up an email address.

It's still like that, but SABnzbd completely streamsline it. If anything, if you set it up correctly, it's even more streamlined than torrents.

For music I use waffles (private tracker).

For videos I've been using torrentz.com lately.
