When they get something right over these past few years? They can actually have claimed to be right for once. For now they need to stop questioning the people who make them look like fools on a nearly 100% basis. Thats why I dont need to answer their questions. They have never been right since I have posted here and have almost always been wrong when questioning posters like me about things like Morey, the draft, Rudy Gay, Battier, our direction, whether the team is a 500 team or not, playoff worthy, who is good on the team and who is not. They at least need to start hitting on some of their points next time they question my posts as if I am wrong. At least hit 1 for 10 against me. Be right once.
Please oh great one, look into your crystal ball and tell me what the team should do next, for I am but a mere mortal. God walking amongst men, why do you keep us in the shadow?
Get one right first and you can gloat. Thats the first rule to responding to another person. Actually have points that come out true half the time at least. Thats all you need to be competent. Being a God is not necessary. Just get some points right some of the time.
Irrational is not realizing that there are other forces at play than Morey. We have Stern & Les along with the other GM's he has delat with not to mention the free agents and their represenation. That was Carrol Dawson who swung that move , not Morey. Im no "Morey Fanboi" by any stretch of the imagination .... but you have to give the guy credit for making more good moves than bad with limited resources and the inability to throw in the towel for an early lotto pick. Place the blame on the right person - Les Alexander.
There is only so much blame I can put on bad luck. He has done well in keeping us afloat. To me thats not special though. Special is moving forward and having some sort of hope, great young player, playoffs, high draft pick, or trade brewing for a huge Superstar that actually wants to be here. So far Morey has none of that going on this year. You at least made a good case for Morey. I just dont feel he is performing and to to do that needs a splash this offseason or he should feel some heat for his position as GM.
Aren't there a bunch of threads around talking about how much Morey sucks, or doesn't suck? I thought this one was about Toronto's 8th pick being "up for grabs."
I am screaming for a top 10 pick. Join me as fans of the Rockets. Ask out of mediocrity with me. Lets all cheer for a top 10 pick and have high hopes and expectations of what our motivated GM can do for us the fanbase.
I dont blame any of it on bad luck , I blame it on the guy who has him hancuffed to a tree .... Yes , he's done a damn good job keeping the team ~.500 with ... a buncha role players. What star do you want him to swing a major deal for ? Teams dont let those type of guy's go very often. Dont forget that GM has to be willing to deal that player too. I want Durant .... but I can forget about it. Amare , Bosh , Melo , CP3 , Nash , Gasol .... all players he has attempted to aquire in the past that for one reason or another didnt work out. I dont think Morey is feeling any heat at all from Les , the man knows well the situation that he has put him in and he has performed .... about as well as can be expected. Morey on more than one occasion has stated the best way to find that star that this Rockets roster lacks is thru an early draft pick. On more than one occasion Les has stated that tanking is not an option to aquire that early draft pick. Its not often that teams are willing to move early lottery picks either .... and when they do , they cost an arm and a leg. I know we have heard several years running they have "tried to move up". How far .... I dont think any of us know the answer. But I'd wager that they werent talking top 3 move up .... likely top 8 at best. The reason this team is stuck on the mediocrity treadmill can be summed up in two words - Les Alexander. For good or bad .....
I'm beginning to believe this a weak draft. Why? If if weren't so, #2, #5 and #8 wouldn't be so readily in play for trades. Granted Charlotte, Sacramento and Toronto are weak teams with multiple holes, but under normal draft circumstances they would be holding on for dear life to get a centerpiece player ... just my two cents.
I would agree except we are talking about Charlotte, Sacramento, and Toronto. If I have a chance to make a deal with team who make bad mistakes constantly? I take my chances they are making another of many bad mistakes those franchises make.
I want Leonard .... Think he has Marc Gasol type potential long term. I tire of watching this team get beat on the glass night after night .... Motejunas and Leonard - two legit 7 footers , that shouild be a thing of the past.
There is no way that Perry can replace what Parsons brings to the court. When you have an elite defender ...
Obviously PJ III, but Parsons has Tyshaun Prince potential (which isn't too bad at all). I'd like to see what he can do behind Parsons to see if he's really got it.
Donatats Motiejunas would be a top-10 draft talent this year. So there, it's already done. If we trade up, it would be to get our 2nd top-10 draft talent for next season.
I'd keep Parsons and loot to upgrade SG .... What Parsons brings is hard to replace. Read somewhere that he had the best one on one defensive percentage in the league .... crazy for a rookie. Even crazier when you consider who the kid is defending on a nightly basis.
