Meaning Kaman's nutz will still only be in danger twice a year, good news for him.

Not a fan of these moves for any of the teams involved except Toronto, just reeks of desperation for Phx and Charlotte is a defensive minded team so what the heck are they going to do with Calderon? Turk proved last year that he wasn't a #2 option kind of guy and now Nash is not only going to have to score more but also play more. Also Phx gets stuck with Hedo's horrible contract along with another 5 yr deal in Childress, whom I actually like. Seems like Phx went to the Uncle "D" school of never giving up! Toronto, did a great job of getting rid of two crazy contracts and picking up a couple of nice players.

Lets see if I can figure this out.

    Phoenix: (Childress), Turkoglu
    Toronto: Barbosa, Chandler, Diaw
    Charlotte: Calderon, Evans

Correct? A lot of moving parts. Guess time will tell how things shake out.

The Raps got the best out of this trade, I know some people here still value Turkaglo, but I think he's got nothing left. Calderon is a bench PG being paid starting money, I'm glad he's gone.

Charlotte gets a point guard which they need now that Felton left, Toronto gets financial flexibility, and Phoenix gets a servicable player who should be motivated now that he's playing for a better team.

    A fair trade for everyone.

I wonder how financial flexibility is going to help the Raptors besides saving the owner some dollars. I mean it's not like playing in Toronto/Canada is attractive to any real talents or superstars.

Looking kinda nice for Toronto. Tyson Chandler is still in the prime of his career, though his numbers have dipped. He's expiring anyway.

Diaw and Barbosa are good complementary players. Barbosa doesnt get paid like he's underrated but he's an underrated very efficient scorer. And they have the "international" thing thats supposedly favorable to playing in Toronto.

Toronto got back their OWN 1st round draft pick in the Bosh sign and trade. Which I think means their OWN record will indicate the draft slot, not the Heat's. So it can be a midrange to lottery pick.

Unless Toronto is greedy, they couldnt have asked for more from the Turkoglu and Bosh situations.

Calderon has very bad defense. If Larry Brown can disguise it, he'll help offset the Felton loss. But he and Reggie Evans won't make up for Chandler and Diaw I dont think. We'll see

Same with Turkoglu and Childress replenishing the loss off Amare in Phoenix. The Suns will have a nice bench but I dont think its enough.

WojYahooNBA just tweeted: Charlotte owner Michael Jordan has had "second thoughts" on trade with Toronto and deal is suddenly in peril, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Seems like he understands that he's getting the worse end of the trade.

Finally Jordan comes to his senses. The Bobcats would get raped in this deal. Give up defensive minded center and a decent 3/4 for a weak ass defender in Calderon and a bum in Evans.

Count me as someone who thinks that a move to Phoenix would really help Turkoglu. The up-tempo style of basketball would create a lot of open looks and everyone gets better once they start playing with Nash.
