it goes to show you, getting COY can mean very little. common JVG!!!!, WIN THE RING ad prove the hater wrong!
Ain't that the truth. Toronto: last year, 27-55 vs. this year, 47-35, haven't been to playoffs since 01-02 season. Dallas: Won 66 games, one of the best records in NBA history. Utah: won 51 games, and returning to playoffs after 4 years. Houston: Did play a lot of games without Yao and T-Mac? But for most games they did have Yao or T-Mac, just not together.
I don't understand, half of the people here want JVG gone cause he doesn't know how to coach offense and is too stubborn to adapt, but over here everyone says it's a travesty JVG didn't win COY...
Can we hire Colangelo as GM? Colangelo's shrewd player signings and movements combined with JVG's defensive mantra would be a perfect fit.
All I know is that Batman Jones is going to do mean things to haters when the Rockets win a championship. He said he would enjoy "rubbing peoples' face in it"-something to that effect........ His was the last word- and he made it clear he is no Van Gundy zealot....
I think either Feigen or Blinebury said they had voted for Avery Johnson in their blogs. So if even the Houston sportswriters did not vote Van Gundy, then we should not be surprised. I am not quite sure what happened. Here is what I suspect. TMac is going to finish #3 in voting for MVP instead of Kobe. The sportswriters in the nation simply decided that Houston's record was really more TMac's merit than Van Gundy.
Sam Mitchell did a good job but he does not deserve to be coach of the year. His success was dependent on Colangelo. Colagenlo forced him to play certain players and they produced. Now he sits there and reaps the benefit in a pathetic Eastern conference. JVG did a much better job than Mitchell and he did it in a much tougher conference. However Jerry Sloan did even better job with lesser talent in the same conference as JVG. He had no star players at the caliber of Yao or Tmac on that team. And just like JVG, he too had to deal with injuries. My choice would have been Jerry Sloan.
Larry Bird wants Sam Mitchell to replace Carlisle. Can Mitchell turn the Pacers around? http://chicagosports.chicagotribune...,6563006.column?coll=cs-columnists-navigation
