    Raptors don't want to keep Davis, is that clear? 35 year old, going downhill, 3 years huge contract left that leaves them little room to manuver during their rebuilding process. And Davis will have no trading value what so ever in a year or two. So when his contract is over, Raptors will have 12 mil cap room but what good FA will want to go to that loser team? Best thing for them to do is get rid of Davis now, and get some yong talents that they can hope on. You may think the deals we proposed are not good enough for Raptors, but they will have a hard time to find a better deal for Davis. And trading Davis is in their best interst. As far as Carter, who knows if his ankle is good or not. Even he can play, he is not as good as he used to be any more.

    If I am CD and I have the #4 pick and I can also sign Marshall for $2 mil a year, you bet I will sign Marshall instead of taking that #4 pick. Marshall will give us a much needed push that a #4 pick will not do. Don't you agree?

    Why don't people realize A. Davis is a huge burden to Raptors?

    Sorry if this was mentioned before but here's a novel idea:

    Lets see how Eddie does under JVG's guidance?

    I think if anybody can get into EG's head it has to be Van Gundy. Lets see if JVG challenges him to be the player that everyone expected him to be and lets see if EG would respond to such a challenge. I am not seeing why trading EG now matters much considering the fact that we're no where near championship contention status--let alone mid-level Western conference contention-- so why jump the gun on EG? Oh Rudy gave him scrub minutes in his 1st year and used him sparingly and unwisely last year and he's supposed to GROW from that kind of experience? Please give me a break.:rolleyes:

    Everyone remember Yao's coming out party in that Dallas game right? Well did anyone remember the first 10 minutes of that game when Eddie kept the Rockets close to the Mavs? The dude showed a flash of what he can do under the right situation--and this doesn't mean hoisting up 3s because that's all the shots that he gets.

    Lets just give the kid a chance. If we were in HIGH contention in the West than maybe yes trading him for a proven PF is the answer. But we're trying to get into the playoffs and that means we shouldn't just trade our young commodity simply because we want to 'MAKE A BIG SPLASH ' :rolleyes: :rolleyes: . Who gives a d@mn about making big splashes...I don't speak for everyone on CC but I rather the Rockets make big SMART decisions than worrying whether or not their move looked good on paper. Basically, lets see how Eddie responds to whatever JVG has to throw at him. I just hope management and JVG don't just give up on him.

    The only thing that keeps me from completely hating this rumor is the possibility of getting Ford with the #4 pick. But then that would involve Griffin and Cat I'm sure, and I don't know how likely that is.

    Just imagine having two of the most fundamentally sound players in the game at the two most important positions, C and PG. That's why I can't completely refuse this trade.

    Macbeth, just let it go. You just go and ignore everything being said about Davis' age, contract situation and declining performance (fg % down for six years in a row, last year .407, I promise you he will be below .400 this year if they are insane enough to still give him the same amount of shots) and keep talking about Davis as if he was the second coming (starter on a playoff team rahrahrah).

    To even ask why they would give up Davis and the 4th pick for Mobley and Griffin just goes to show that you are TOTALLY biased in favor of Toronto.

    So we have:

    kidrock8 = Lakers fan
    Cat = Spurs fan
    MacBeth = Toronto fan

    G'Day :).

    Can't agree more. This would be a bargain of the decade for Raptors! And Macbeth thinks Raptors would be doing us a big favor?

    It is a good thing CD and JVG are not half as stupid as the people who come up with these crazy deals. EDDIE IS GOING NOWHERE. NOWHERE! Advice to the wise, review the tapes of the season. We need to be very cautious. I believe in JVG and know he is not in a big hurry to make deal for making deals. EG is a top talent and we paid a hefty price for him. Just being on this bbs you would think this guy is useless. Folks relax on EG for me please.
