I'm not really talking about the schools so much. If you ask me, whatever is necessary to safeguard children, do it. They need safe shelters or whatever is needed in situations like these.

I was more responding to why more homes don't have them.

As for having the technology, again, it's not about if it can be done, it's can people afford it. No one is building people tornado resistant safe rooms in their homes for free. It can definitely be done. It's just not done that often because of the economics of it. Sad stuff, because it just leaves these people as sitting ducks for these things.

There was a notice issued the day before the Moore tornado that a massive tornado would strike the next day. Yet the parents still send their children to school? That makes absolutely no sense. Utterly irresponsible.

    Uh, no.

Chances of severe weather and possible tornados all across the Midwest. You can't predict tornado strikes a day in advance yet. They knew about 20 minutes before it hit that there was likely a tornado forming in a supercell. It's not like the weathermen said "Hey guys, big tornado tomorrow in Moore. Make sure you go chill in Edmond for the day. YOLO." and everyone was like "Naw, weatherman. Our houses and schools are THICK and s**t, like my ****."

It's more likely that yesterday someone said, "Aceshigh7 is gonna say something stupid today. Take precautions", and now I'm irresponsible for clicking on the thread and being annoyed by your post.

I ONLY HAVE MYSELF TO BLAME.

HAHAHAHAHA. Yea.. since tornadoes are so predictable. People like you (that have absolutely no knowledge of weather) are the same people that don't take warnings seriously.

My twitter feed was filled with warnings on Sunday night of a massive tornado expected in the OKC area the following day. These warnings were issued after the Shawnee tornado on Sunday. Any parent in the vicinity who would then send their kids to school the next day as if its a normal day is an irresponsible jackass.

Look into it. Folks knew the conditions were perfect for a tornado of this nature as early as Sunday evening.

Those of you displaying your ignorance in this thread to my earlier post can feel free to leave your apologies for being uninformed.

I hope more people rep this post. Factual, amusing, mocked "YOLO." Save for a spelling mistake it was perfect.

Damn those houses look like they're made of paper. I wonder how Euro style (brick) houses would fare.
