Just look for any movie with James Stewart or Robert Mitchum or Gregory Peck or John Wayne or Paul Newman in it and you can't go wrong.
I'm watching Butch Cassidy for the first time ever right now. It's always great to get a joke in Mallrats nearly 10 years after the fact.
Godfather Part I Godfather Part II Taxi Driver Scarface The Usual Suspects (thus the name) Shawshank Redemption One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Pulp Fiction Memento Rear Window (no particular order, these are just ten of my favorite movies)
Here are a few that haven't been mentioned that I have really enjoyed: Lonesome Dove (western) - not a real movie, but a TV mini-series that was great - good books too. A Knight's Tale - I rented this one night and for some reason it became one of my top five movies of all time. You have to realize that it's a fairy tale, but very enjoyable for me. I'm Gonna Git You Sucka - A spoof movie that I saw in high school that I've seen well over a hundred times. There have been many movies since that one that have been pretty funny, but for me that was the greatest. That was the first time that I ever saw Chris Rock and I'll never forget his scenes. "How much for an o'der o' ribs?!!"

No way, maybe the most boring of all time. I literally sat in my seat and fell asleep for the remainder of the movie. By the time I woke up, I asked my friend what I missed, and he said "nothing at all."
