I will say this though. If Jabari plays with that same confidence and consistency that he had in those first two summer league games during the NBA regular season, he instantly is catapulted to the top of my prospect list. He actually showed the ability to get a little separation (thinking of the Detroit game, step back three on Wiseman) and pull up from three, combined with those sweet mid-post turnarounds.... that's top prospect/franchise player material right there. If he can (and is given the freedom) to do that on a regular basis... good problems to have finding enough ball to go around.
I'm talking about their whole career average man not just 1 season. Poole, Smart, Gabe, Schröder, FVV aren't elite. If Amen's absolute peak is Poole and he's the one who has the biggest upside in the roster we are legitimately f*cked. This means that Sengun, Green, Tari, Jabari are all busts. Fox, Morant and Doncic are the only elite subpar 3pt shooting pg's in your list. So he's essentially has to be in the god damn %99 percentile at every other areas so that we could overlook his terrible shooting. I think he might develop into a Fox level of talent but i think one of Jabari, Green, Sengun will become a more valuable player than Fox so he's definitely not the one who has the highest upside. If he fixes his shooting form i'll happily eat my words. Amen with 35% 3pt shooting is the best player in our roster.
You make no sense dude. Amen having a low 3 pt percentage doesn't max him out a Poole... What the ****? I'm sorry is Pool a 6'6" elite top tier athlete with a 7ft wing span that has high court awareness and vision? Amen could be a below average shooter and still be a star at least. Maybe to become a superstar he needs to be average.
1. Smith 2. Tari 3. Whitmore 4. Amen(already hurt) 5. Sengun(defense matters) 6. Green(defense matters) 7. Jock 8. Hudgins 9. Mayer(sign him)
Poole is not elite wtf also pls stop quoting me man you have an exhausting personality. Yea you are the s.t and we mortals don't know nothing about bb just go jack off to your advanced stats and stop disagreeing with every single human being here on every single topic. I do not login to this website to go back and forth with a debate lord 24/7. Can i f-king block this guy is there any feature like that? Edit: Found it hope it's 100% working.
This we can definitely agree on. I still think that you're discounting his size and freakish athletic ability which even without shooting makes him dangerous for opposing guards - small forwards on offense and defense in my opinion. But at the end of the day it's nice that the Rockets have all of this potential that gives us fans something to discuss during the sports hole (not a huge baseball fan) that are these days.
I’m convinced that if this thread is kept live long enough we will eventually see all 720 possible permutations of our six top prospects.
I seem to remember that Frank is not a KPJ fan (maybe just not at pg?) Also, his rankings were about greatest upside, fwiw.
For sure his athleticism and size will help him a lot. I think he'll grow at least 1 more inch so we'll have a 6'8 pg. The thing is in today's nba you can't afford to have more than 1 nonshooter in your lineup if your aim is to be a serious contender. That's why i wanted a shooter. He seems to be a down to earth, hardworking kid if he improves i'll be more than happy.
Based on the proliferation of “top prospect,” “Superstar,” & “Franchise Player“ threads, it is going to be a Lonnnnggg 3 months until the first preseason game. I am going to miss these summer league games.
Jabari struggled the first 50 games or so, but ended the year playing very well. Was 2nd team all rookie if I recall? The idea that he was terrible last year is false.
I don't know. It does seem a little illiterate basketball wise. You stare at a on/off sheet not accounting for things like context such as Tari's on/offs will be inflated due to playing against mostly bench units. In fact the first half of the season he even played during garbage time during blowouts where the opposing third stringers played.
Totally agree with this. I know the Rockets were probably drafting for BPA, but with the addition of Thompson and Whitmore, they've now got a very interesting mix of highly talented players with complementary skillsets. If these guys keep developing together, and if the front office can figure out how to keep them financially, I can see the Rockets turning into perennial contenders in three or four years.
