yep love actually was AWESOME. "let's go and get our asses kicked by love" that little kid was hilarious.

so you are holding out hope for cheaper by the dozen?;)

actually Peter Pan doesn't look that great but might be OK. there's this one scene from the trailer that's totally Yuen Wo Ping-esque where he's spinning through the air trying to grab the sword or something. Intriguing... and I will go see it because I see most movies but I'm not holding my breath.

cold mountain and paycheck also come out next week right? i'm a big john woo fan I guess, and the premise looks good. that one has a chance to crack the top 10. there's cold moutain the book right? i think i read that in high school, there's a bunch of parallels to the odyssey? I don't remember. i try to avoid really dramatic films, but if people like it then i go and see it on their advice.

whoa! Matrix Reloaded was this year! I forgot about that one. Okay that's in the Top 10 instead of Cradle 2 the Grave. That one was awesome, I even thought it was better than the first one.

You're not the only one that liked Rundown. I thought about putting it in but I couldn't justify it over some of the others. The Rock really kicked ass in this movie. I really love the Capoeira fight scene too. And it was FUNNY!

Go see Master and Commander and the Last Samurai. Right away. Those movies are awesome.

Big Fish... trailer looks fantastically but I can't tell what it's about... definitely intrigued though.

Have you even seen the movie? You don't just put majority opinions and critical reviews. If you're gonna belittle a movie and discredit someone, then you need more than a one liner, you need an intelligent, creditible response.

That's not a good indicator as I'm a huge fanboy of the above five. Guru was a very funny movie. :)

    haha

why that movie doesn't deserve to be listed as a Movie of the Year is self-evident. It had some nice eye-candy and that is all. Plot, Dialog and the dumbness of it just excludes it from being taken seriously.

    1. ROTK
    2. Master and Commander
    3. TLS
    4. Kill Bill
    5. Finding Nemo

subject to change after I see Mystic River, Cold Mountain, or Monster.

well I wish I could be like you and choose movies well so that I only see ones I like. but as it is I've seen some real stinkers like "timeline." The acting in that was just horrible. I now refuse to see any movies with that guy, who was also in 2 fast 2 furious (which i guess succeeded despite him).

if you took it seriously then you didn't understand the point of the movie. i'm guessing you didn't see it, did you? but anyway, you're entitled to you opinion, once you see the movie of course.

wow i've made lots of posts. didn't even realize I'm past the 400 barrier. i really love movies though.

did anyone else here see "Hero" by Zhang YiMou? Foriegn film. I guess it could have been last year. I wonder if it will ever be wide release like Crouching Tiger. Because it was truly better than CTHD. The scenery was so beautiful and the martial arts was truly superb. I think it has to be the highest budget film out of China ever. It has so many screen legends of Hong Kong film, with Tony Leung (who is awesome) and Donnie Yen too. Zhang ZiYi is in there as well. But I'm not that big a fan of her.

I'm surprised nobody here's mentioned Bend It Like Beckham. That was easily the funniest movie I've seen all year. If you haven't seen it yet, go rent it tonight. You won't be disappointed.

Also, Master and Commander really kicked ass.

I believe it will be released in the US in 2004. I saw it from a DVD brought back from China when my brother visited. Absolutely an awesome movie. When it was done playing, I watched it again. Action was great, but the imagery of the movie and especially the use of color had me absolutely blown away. Kicked the living daylights out of CTHD. When this comes out in the States, everyone must go see this and see it in the theatre with the big screen and surround sound. I'd likely rate this movie higher than most everything I've seen this year.

    1. Return of the King - It's on a whole other level from everything else

    2. X Men 2
    3. Kill Bill
    4. Matrix Reloaded
    5. The Rules of Attraction - Great movie. A little disturbing and twisted. Check this one out on DVD.
    6. Pirates of the Carribean - Right up there with Blow and Fear and Loathing as some of Depp's best work
    7. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Surprisingly good
    8. Matrix Revolutions - What a letdown..

Matrix Reloaded and Pirates of Caribbean were probably my favorites of the year. I normally don't see many movies until the DVD has been out for a year and the price is under 10 bucks.
