http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-...-14?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter As for Julian Edelman’s potential market, it makes sense to think it will be close to Danny Amendola range after Edelman's 105-catch season. If that’s the case, the Patriots could absorb it but I think they would ultimately decide not to. If I’m Texans head coach Bill O’Brien, and the goal is to put a new quarterback in the best position to succeed, the idea of Edelman in the slot with Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins on the outside is particularly appealing to me unless there are strong feelings third-year pro Keshawn Martin, already on the roster, could fill the role.
Weird. I'm pretty sure we would be hard pressed to clear the room to go after Edelman regardless. Martin is marginal as a receiver, period, let alone having the tight route running and hands for the slot. Posey isn't a slot type either, but you'd think he'd get mention as WR-3 at least.
Edelman would be a phenomenal add. Not quite as dynamic as walker, but does a ton of the same stuff. Amend old money was stupid to begin with, no way Edelman gets that mucho, but he won't be cheap
It would be a waste of money. posey Hopkins and AJ are all talented; Martin's a question mark, but he may yet prove to be a decent slot. NT, DE, RT, ILB, OLB, LG, DB, and QB are all vastly more urgent needs. Edelman's a good WR, but he's nothing special. He'll cost too much money and he's not a game-changer.
Maybe Paul Soliai would be a good pick up to plug the middle of the defensive line with. 6'4 340lbs... Don't know what his price would be like but could be worth a look at.
There were a ton of little midget types that looked good in the East - West Shrine game who would be good slot receiver candidates. Jeremy Gallon of Michigan comes to mind, but there were plenty of others. Pick one or two up as a 6th/ 7th round pick or ad a UFA. Spending big money on a slot receiver seems to me like a luxury that they can't afford.

Linval Joseph, DT Giants??? would be an interesting option as a DLineman here??? might be pricey though, but he is young and big(6'6 320)
