Not even close. Sanchez at his best is a terrible passer who makes questionable decisions, Schaub at his worst is a good passer who makes questionable decisions. You have to treat both of them the same and limit their drop-backs, but Schaub is ALWAYS the better passer of the two. Sanchez is a flat out bust who happened to have a beast of a defense that won games and the simple minded fans who think team win loss record matter overrated him.
No no no no no! I have seen too much of Sanchez to stay silent on this. Dead wrong. Schaub is much better.
Seriously as pathetic as Schaub was, anyone that would even suggest that Sanchez is a viable option...lol...I would love to know who are these people leaking this terrible information from the Texans...
If we're looking for a veteran quarterback, why not Ryan Fitzpatrick? He seems like a much better "bridge" QB than any of the other options that have been floated out there. And if we're looking for a project with some upside, I'd rather take a flyer on Freeman than Sanchez. Both are probably worthless, but at least with Freeman you can point to the braindead Leslie Frazer and Greg Schiano to stifling his development.
Ill do one better...Josh Freeman. He is 26. Has had his moments. He has size, mobility, and a big arm. He needs to be coached, and the Texans B'OB could be that guy. The Texans then wouldn't have to draft a QB even with the 2nd pick(could use for a much better talent ie. ILB, safety, DT). This could be a 2 year experiment, and if it fails, there is next year. The Texans could then cut Matt later on this year with a conditional pick attachment(ie. 5th or 6th round pick). Have a legit back up in Case Keenum... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1994936-josh-freeman-is-best-long-term-qb-option-remaining-in-2014-nfl-free-agency
Sanchez is TERRIBLE. At least schoob has good accuracy to throw short routes. Sanchez has NO accuracy.
schaub is so terrible... ugh.. anybody that trades for him & his ridiculous contract should be publicly shamed.
Imagine Schaub last season. And imagine that happening again, and again, and again... and you have Mark Sanchez.
Lived in New York for many years. Have seen more Jets games than anyone should; from a mental health standpoint. I don't think people realize... But the truth is that this is being leaked by the Jets as a way to try and generate trade interest for Sanchez; indeed a futile attempt.
I think work ethic is the main factor. A timing offense requires so much diligence and practice. Guys that rely on their improvisation, athleticism, or big arm always seem to have trouble panning out in systems like that.
