After looking at the numbers I'm convinced that Ware, Tuck, Smith, Revis and Peppers will be mediocre for their teams. I think even Authur Jones with the colts is only a minimal improvement. These teams are spending money on names not productivity. As a Texans fan I'm more worried about the Decker signing in New York and the work the Jaguars are doing. I'm gonna trust that O'Brien and his staff are doing their due diligence on low cost productive players
Eric Decker is just another creation of Peyton Manning. Like Austin Collie, Brandon Stokley, and Jacob Tamme. He's going to be a big fat nothing in NY with Geno Smith and the chuckle bunch throwing him the ball. Ware, Tuck, Smith, Revis, and Peppers will all have a productive couple more years. Overpaid? Probably. But they're going to stay on the field and game. Decker will all but disappear from the NFL radar.
Exactly. He's gonna make an impact. All these big names may be in the field but they're never gonna be on the level they once were
Calling Decker a Manning creation make you look a little, uninformed. Decker was actually more productive before manning got there. You are sounding more like a hater
it's not that I expect good takes from you, but you do know that by far the best season Decker ever had before Manning got there was 44 receptions for 612 yards right? You also know that he's had over 80 receptions and over 1000 yards every season since Manning has been there right? How was he "more productive" before Manning got there? C'mon man, be better.
Dafuq r u talkin bout? Decker's 2 years before Manning: 50 receptions, 718 yards, 9 tds Decker's 2 years after Manning: 172 receptions, 2352 yards, 24 tds The days of 1000+ yards and 80+ receptions are over for Mr. Decker. He did pretty well for my fantasy team in early 2011 though. So we'll always have those fond memories <3
Do you know when the last time a Jets receiver broke even 1000 yards? 2007. Still think it's going to happen?
I'd give Decker a better chance if Rex Ryan had gotten fired. A new OC might bring in a different style offense and also might pull the plug on the Geno Smith experiment. But I don't expect Rex to change his offensive stripes this late in his career, and Geno looks every bit like a bust. For a WR to pull in 60/800 in that situation, he'd have to be pretty good.
Yeah I stand by my predictions. I think I'm dead on target with what he's gonna do this season. He's their number1 receiver
and being their #1 receiver with the opposing best CB on you, bad news for decker who will already have an inconsistent qb
Let me put it to you this way. In 2012, with a better QB at the helm (Sanchez), and virtually all other receiving options injured or suspended for significant portions of the year (Hill, Holmes, Schillenz, Gates), Jeremy Kerley (a pretty talented dude in his own right who played in each game that year) led the Jets with 56 receptions for 827 yards. This does not bode well.
Decker is way more talented than Kerley. I don't think I'm giving him too much credit to say he will have 30 more catches and 300 more yards than Jeremy Kerley. Its not like I said he was gonna put up Megatron numbers
