Man, I thought it was just me who wanted to go to Tokyo. Guess I was wrong. It was pretty cool because just last week I wrote a short little "essay" on Japan, and Tokyo. Nothing much. Just why I wanted to go there and facts about the place. Pretty cool place, I think.
London is the best shopping in the world and if you don't like nice clothes then it has the most crazy nightlife after Ibiza and Miami. People here do everything and are very open minded. This is one of those cities where you can realistically think: "maybe we can get a threesome going on tonight". Also, English girls have a strong attraction to american boys so take advantage. If you are not single then, like I said, the shopping is great. Check out Harrods and Soho.
In no particular order, and without picking Calgary because I live here: Vancouver BC Copenhagen Denmark (I'm with you on this one SJC) Salzburg Austria (Incredible! Like walking through a storybook. ) Boston Mass Paris France (speaking a little French helps a lot! ) I’ve never been to Texas. German cities are awesome from a beauty and history standpoint, but the people aren’t always friendly to us North Americans. And Albany is a great pick for a worst place. You could pick a lot of places in up state NY for that matter.
Sydney, Australia Vancouver, Canada Seattle, USA Bombay, India Home of Middle Earth, New Zealand I love mountains and water and Houston has got crap to look at. I've been wanting to go to Sydney, New Zealand, Seattle and Vancouver for a long time now. Unfortunately my friends only want to go to Vegas! Bombay is not at all like what some of you would think. Well some parts are. But the girls and nightlife over there would blow most of you away.
Damn! I can't believe I forgot Vegas! I guess I thought it should be disqualified. But Las Vegas is the best city of all cities unless you are talking about cities where you can get a job that doesn't involve tips or c*^k su&^ing or sliting throats.
I haven't been to many places, so I can only rank what I know. 1. Washington DC 2. New York ...those are the only two major cities I've seen enough of to really say that I like. I've also seen a lot of Dallas, Galveston, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio; but I don't think I would rank them as the best cities...they just happen to be close to where I've lived most of my life.
BEST 1. Glasgow (not where i was born but best city in scotland ) 2. H-town 3. London 4. Madrid 5. New york Worst 1. Paris (smells soooo bad!!!) 2. Aberdeen (Iwas born here but i have to be honest the place sucks. the weather, the city, the surrounding area is beautiful but its not enough) 3. salt lake city
based on places I've been and enjoyed (in no particular order) Taos, NM San Francisco, Ca Hersonissos, Crete New Orleans, La Oslo, Norway
Wow, no love for Moscow? If there's one thing in the world I'd love to see in person it's St. Basil's... Of where I've been... 1) San Antonio- if you ignore the latrine running through the city. 2) New Orleans- was there for last Thanksgiving and the place was rockin'. Can only imagine how rowdy it gets for Mardis Gras! 3) New York- could spend lifetimes there checking everything out. 4) Corpus Christi 5) Silvertown
Grizzlies and R0ckets03...i never put vancouver on my list because i live there or here or however i am supposed to say it. it's an amazing city, very liveable and very beautiful. I put whistler instead, though i only like it better in the winter (cuz i'm a snowboarder)...though vancouver also has some great mountains for snowboarding very close to the city. I love it here!
Most seem to be judging on cities they have been, Well, I dont have that advantage. So I'll just name ones I would like to go to. 1) Amsterdam (for obvious reasons) 2) Sydney (or any other place in Oz, any suggestions Smeg?) 3) London 4) San Francisco 5) Rio de Janeiro 6) Austin (I've been there, but I love the place) places I dont want to go to. 1) Canada (anyplace that snows that much..no thanks) 2) Moscow,Russia 3) Tel Aviv,Isreal 4) NY 5) Kabul, Afganistan
Sydney, New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Rome, Venice; I could go on and on. I really enjoy living in Seattle. It has a nice "big-city" feel to it. It's also a fairly environmentally conscious, left wing city. It is within hours of ski resorts, surrounded by mountains, and set on the beautiful Puget Sound. The only thing it's missing is heat. I love the warmth of cities like Sydney, Houston, and LA.
Great choices on everyone's lists. But a couple glaring omissions ... Prague, Czech Republic Jerusalem, Israel London, England NY, NY San Francisco, CA Prague and Jerusalem are both simply amazing places. Great looking women in Prague, too ...
To live in (I've traveled to some of them, but some are on there because of places I think I might like to work). -San Francisco -Austin -Tucson -Boulder -Portland Places I've visited -Bergen, Norway -Venice, Italy -Lisbon, Portugal -Taipei, Taiwan -NY, NY Cities I hope to see before I croak -Lhasa, Tibet -Hong Kong, China -Istanbul, Turkey
I am a Beatles addict and the two times I visited were like a wonderland..one time in the summer and it was green and beautiful there and once at Christmastime in a rare driving snow having one of the proverbial Top Ten Days of My Life with my wife and best friends who are also Beatles lifers. Yes, I realise that Amsterdam, or Rome, or Berlin, or Prague, or all sorts of places are better than Liverpool, but for me it is the Holy Land..and nobody gets blown up there!
Out of places I've been: Best: 1. Anchorage 2. Stockholm 3. Vancouver, BC 4. Florence, Italy 5. H-town Honorable Mention: Seattle, Honolulu I am actually a little bit surprised to hear Anchorage so often from you guys; but I have NEVER been to a place with a better combination of outdoor recreation/big city life in the world, along with a city-wide tough but party attitude. If you are young, and enjoy the outdoors, it can't be beat. It would take a team of horses to drag me out of AK right now. Somebody once asked me why I like Anchor-town so much better than Portland (where I grew up), and my response was this (no joke): "If Anchorage and Portland were two people and they got into a fight in the street, Anchorage would kick Portland's wheat grass juice-sippin ass." Worst: 1. Philly 2. Mexico City 3. Tijuana 4. L.A. 5. Dallas
Only 5? No way, too tough. Here are my top 17: Austin, Boulder, New York, Venice, London, Seattle, Rome, Vancouver, San Francisco, Sedona, Isle of Skye, Santa Fe, Keswick, Siena, Grindelwald, Telluride, Cancun.
