Morey was one of the judges. I'll bet he put Shane at #1 and that's what landed him in the top 50.
Waste of time -- the top 50 players in the NBA currently are <a href="http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics?sort=ewa&pos=all&seasonType=2&action=upsell&appRedirect=http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics%3fsort%3dewa%26pos%3dall%26seasonType%3d2">here</a>.
Overrating Dwight Howard again, No surprise. No way is Shaq better than Gasol. McGrady shouldn't even be Top 50, and Carter is too high.
Battier being on a list like that is an absolute crime. No seriously, somebody should be arrested and I say this as a Battier fan. P.S. Scola is way better than Brand and Villanueva right now just to throw a couple names out there
He's currently behind Nowitzki. And he may not be a better player than those guys based on past production, but he has been really good this season and that's why he's so high on that list.
Pretty good list.... Kidd is too high, while Nash is kind of low. I am not even a Steve Nash fan, and believe he should be in the top 10. I would want to lower Tim Duncan, because of his regular season number. But, he is absolute beast in the playoffs, sometimes. Shaq is kind of high, but he can and does change the dynamic of any team, unlike some of the players below him. I think Bosh and Gasol, both have better numbers than Shaq at this point in his career, but they still don't bring the kind of attention he does at times on the floor. Yao has fair rating considering he is injury prone and out for the season, but if he were out there playing right now, he'd easily be top 8. Same for T-Mac. Nene and Lamar Odom shouldn't be on that list. If Nene (as well as Camby), you have to add Kaman, Perkins, Emeka Okafor, and Bogut. Danny Granger should be slightly higher. Allen Iverson should be on the list, even though he is not active. Charlie Villanueva makes the list over Scola, Landry, Marvin Williams, Brook Lopez, Marc Gasol, Okur, and even Greg Oden who has played fairly well this year.
Fans underrate Lamar Odom, but guys like JVG and Jerry West know what's up. Odom was huge for the Lakers last year.
I never understood why. He's probably the most versatile player in the nba. His ability to handle the ball like a guard but finish at the rim and rebound like a big puts a lot of pressure on the defense. His length and athleticism really helps with defensive rotations as well. People make jokes about him being dumb but has very good basketball instincts.
