totally with you on billie jean. i'm a big fan and this is his best song by a big margin IMO. i mean wow, that sound just kills.
He had a number of underrated songs and I've seen y'all mention some of them, like Roxfan73 with Ben. Liberian girl was also a dope song but the video was pretty awesome. My goodness he had just about every star back in the day in the video, pretty sick stuff. <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jBznSXe04U8&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jBznSXe04U8&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
Too many lists without Billie Jean. I'm entertained by some of his songs like Beat It and Bad, but they're kind of gimicky/campy when compared to the artistic greatness of a song like "Billie Jean."
I'm meh on "Billie Jean" - guess I just got tired of hearing that song. It is a great song, don't get me wrong, but overplayed like "Stairway to Heaven". My top 5 (and this was really hard): "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" "Rock With You" "Beat It" "Human Nature" "Man in the Mirror" To me, "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" are 10 out of 10 albums, hell maybe even 11 or 12 out of 10. "Bad" is like 8 out of 10 and "Dangerous" might be 6.5 out of 10 and it just goes down from there, IMO. I thought about it this morning but I really feel that MJ's life and career closely parallels that of Elvis Presley's. They were both untouchable in their early days but had gone downhill by the end (Fat Elvis in Vegas, White Michael with all the creepy surgeries).
Billie Jean was the first song released on Thriller. I was never a big fan of it. In fact for the first couple months in 1982 I thought a girl was singing.
Really? Played more than Beat It? I just feel Billie Jean is a song that has aged a lot better than the Beat It's or the Bad's.
Here is the Captain Eo movie for those who were unfortunate to not be able to visit Disneyland when they had it there <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AstW05bDiQU&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AstW05bDiQU&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l2Zt-57Cg0U&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l2Zt-57Cg0U&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Black or White Man in the Mirror Thriller Don't stop till you get enough Dirty Diana Did you guys know that Dirty Diana is about his groupies? Not one particular girl, but all of his groupies?
I've spent my day so far violently defending Michael Jackson around those who are bashing him and making jokes about his death. I need to chill....
Seriously. I love the way it just builds and builds. Starts out with that simple drum groove, then comes that distinctive bass-line, then the keyboard, then Michael’s vocals, then that funky guitar riff, then add some strings for embellishment… All the while, the drums and bass almost never change. Quincy Jones is a genius.
I've been listening to some MJ this morning, and I kept saying this to myself. Simply amazing. (And his daughter is hawt.)
Beat it was my favorite song as a kid, though it hadn't aged quite well. The Eddie van halen solo is still one of my favorites... Pure awesomeness.
