This is relevatory, especially coming from you, one of MPJ's biggest advocates. I'm on the fence. I like Cade (and Mobley) but not ready to call him a sure thing. Just like MPJ was not a sure thing either prior to his injury. Prior to his injury, MPJ was nearly unanimous 1st pick in his draft class.
The difference is Mpj's potential is a prolific scorer with below average defense and low IQ and Cades potential is 2 way player, well rounded and high IQ player
I understand Mobley’s upside but just like I wouldn’t draft Ayton over Luka, I wouldn’t do that here either. I understand your thought process but I’m absolutely positive if Cade stays healthy he will be a superstar. Circle back in a few years and laugh at me but I’m absolutely sold on his value. There isn’t even a debate for me to have. Cade has MVP upside and all star floor.
Cade has high IQ and leadership intangibles, but Suggs IQ, leadership and intangibles are much more developed. He is best player on best team in the nation. Cade is 2 way but so is Mobley and Suggs. Cade is not as explosive athletically as Green, Kuminga or Mobley. So his upside is limited. And do the Rockets need another well rounded player or do they need an elite scorer? Cade could be both, maybe. But not sure Cade will be as prolific a scorer as MPJ, or even Green. And I'm a Cade fan.
Cade in foul trouble in the 1st half yet again...hope he goes off in the 2nd half again his 3rd foul was just a bad decision...let the dude score instead of picking up a bad foul TX has been in his grill defensively
No "I told you so's" from me. I want Cade to surpass Luka as Harden and Lebron's heir to the big PG but not willing to call him a sure thing because I dont believe he is elite at anything at this point.
All I know is I hope the Rockets get a top 4 pick. If it's not 1, Mobley would probably be my 2nd choice and Kuminga 3. I get that Green and Suggs may be more sure things but you can't teach size. I'm fully on the Cade train but any of those guys would be great at 2-4.
Cade just split a double team and then hit a smooth midrange shot I hope the Rockets go on a 30 game losing streak...it would all be worth it for the #1 pick
Silver would be an idiot to not rig the lottery for the Rockets to get the #1 overall pick. KPJ/Cade/Wood would bring ratings and jersey sales, not just for Houston, but all over the US. Nobody wants to see Cade rot in Detroit or Orlando.... eww.
