My favorite arcade games of all time are 720 (Skate or Die) - I used to go to Fame City and spend hours playing this game. I got pretty good at it. If I ever get financially comfortable, I'm going to buy one for the house. PacLand- Does anyone remember this game? I only remember it at Astroworld. I had a season pass when I was a kid and instead of riding the rides, me and my buddy would spend all of our time in the arcade playing this game. I'd like to play it once again to see if it's still any fun.
Are you just a Clockwork Orange Fan or do you like other Kubrick films? If you are, how come you never revealed this in chat?
Not even a single MMO game anywhere on the list? Where is Ultima Online, Everquest, and World Of Warcraft? And what about Subspace. People actually still play Subspace after about 10 years now. Now thats staying power.
Is it sad that I'm 25, and the only video game I've ever "beaten" was Contra? I did kick a little ass in NBA Live, 1996-1999.
Agreed 100%. No Megaman 2? No Ninja Gaiden 2? No Pac-Man? No Chrono Cross? No Streets of Rage 2? No Xenogears? No Super Mario 3? No friggin' Final Fantasy 7? That may be the biggest joke right there... since when was FFX better than FF7? There's one thing I give them mad props for... Tobal 2 is at #61. That definitely deserves to be on the list, and seeing that you could only play it by importing, hardly anyone knows about it...
sigh...no love for Diablo... ...and Mega Man 3 was the best game of that series....best music, great bosses, plus it was difficult without being frustrating, which is hard to do. However, I have to give props to the Metal Man saw blade...a close second to the plasma gun for the coolest weapon in video game history.
Tecmo Super Bowl should have definitely been the top ranked sports game. Earlier someone said that FF8 deserved mentioning, I couldn't disgree more. It's the only installment of the series I haven't finished. There are plenty of games that are still 100x better than stuff coming out now. I still bust out the SNES and play Super Mario All Stars, Donkey Kong Country 2, or Chrono Cross. I think it's clear that Square Soft was an unstoppable force on the SNES. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 2 & 3, and Secret of Mana are all in my top 10/15.
man after reading all of this, I plugged in the old NES and SNES and wasted hours and hours on both of them. I totally forgot how great those two systems were. I think I still might like them more than what we have now, if only for nostalgia reasons.
