Uh, I think you missed my point, it is not about being number 1, 2, 3, 10..whatever, it is about getting a system in place that does what it was intended to do. I liked the poem...that is why I brought it up. And my videos are not about Rep moes, I started them before the rep system....if people like em great...if not....fine too. LOL - true dat. DD
*arkoe comes to Clutch, hat in hand, to humbly request seeing the top 100 post count list. Curious to see what it looks like after the last few years.
2 Reps right after my previous post in this thread... Much thanks to the two guys. It's fun passing along my knowledge to fans that are as devoted as I am to the Red Nation
haha I outrank burnsies here just a matter of time till a chosen one rises out of the ashes and takes over my place as #1
Oh tinman, you buying NBA 2k10 for Xbox man? We'll hook up next year... we can watch some Rockets basketball.
I am humbled to be #46 and to have more rep for my hoops related contributions. I thought I would be lower on the list, if at all. Thanks, everyone!
Hey, i'm just amazed and pleased (and proud!) to be in top 100. With nearly 40,000 members that's a fair effort.
I'm happy to be in the top 100, but the D&D gets people so much rep(including myself). So many of the main posters in there are getting repped by the same people over and over. I think I'm going to start entering GARM more. I clearly don't post enough in there now days.
I think contributing members are still the only ones that can give it out, but you can check your rep by clicking on your User CP, or for an idea of where people stand, you can scroll over their green/gray/red dots under their name. You have 0 rep right now.
Apparently Clutchfans' version of the BCS isn't immune to controversy. And I blame YoYo's #1 rank on a weaker conference. Spoiler I don't know what that means either.
I know it's silly to take pride in rep points on a bbs, but it's a nice feeling to be in the top 100 out of 37,000+. And I guess I should go ahead and post in the GARM more since probably 1% of my posts are there, but 23% of my rep points are there. And I don't know **** about basketball. Thanks for the love, suckers.
On a side note, I talked to Chance yesterday at the 1560 tailgate. He made an interesting point that this is probably one the strongest internet communities as far as how long people stay on this site. I would guess there quite a few college football sites that have the same loyalty but this site is pretty strong
My own rep as an example, for all the rep system's flaws I still notice there's a strong correlation with posters participating in the rep system in general being more quality than the average poster. The posters who left me rep that identified themselves in the rep comment, around 3 out of 4 I'd consider above average posters to begin with. Some have spoken against rep givers leaving their names, that it contributes to buddy systems and self promotion. But for now I think its helped in the early going. I'm sure its been brought up even years ago, but it be interesting if individual posts that got an extraordinary amount of reputation were somehow highlighted. Not just thread ratings but post ratings. Kinda like Amazon.com reviews where they highlight the review people selected as "most helpful". But here it would be to show EXACTLY what consistutes a quality post. Or maybe just have an editor's pick determined by the admin or whatever. BUT, that could lead to more redudancy of the system and more political stunts. (And those in the rep elite, you dont "really" want to compromise your position making the proletariat better do you..? )
I am fairly amused by the fact that only 56.6% of the rep I have received are in the groups Clutch listed out (hangout, d&d, and basketball related). I don't see anyone else on the list that is even remotely close to me in that regard.
