You're right, so let me clarify my earlier statement.

For purposes of MY list, I wasn't going to rattle off picks that were generally considered solid moves when made, but rather was focusing on picks that were just plain dumb when they were made.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Gotcha.

And for the record (with out the use of hindsight) I probably do the Eddie Griffin draft 10 out of 10 times. Although it turned out to be a bad pick, when you get an oppertunity to trade 3 mid to late 1st round picks for a player many scouts including your own team had as the most talented player in the draft you have to get that guy. Especially when he would fill a position of need.

Bad pick? yeah but not a dumb move by any stretch IMO.

I doubt rox would be able to draft Hakeem in the next season if Drexler is drafted. And with Drexler, I'm just guessing that rox would not even draft jordan as well IF Rox have the 3rd pick.

I don't know. The Rockets were pretty intent on not winning that year in order to get Dream. I'm not sure how much of a difference he would have made his rookie year anyway since he did not exactly set the world on fire that year. I dont think he would have contributed any more than Rodney that year anyway.

Not true at all - the reason Eddie wasn't taken #1 in the draft was because of his mental troubles. He was a headcase in high school and a headcase in college. Rockets really blew it by not doing their due diligence on the guy.

rodney mcray stil turned out to be a really good role player, even though the rockets prolly would have made alot more finals appearances in the late 80s,early 90s if we would have drafted drexler in instead.
