wow. i thought i was the only one to think that krayzie bone is the best rapper alive. he has the best delivery and voice. btnh is the greatest rap group ever....too bad they fell off
I don't know if they just stopped trying or caring anymore or what, but they need to get back the same people that helped them produce the many great single-worthy records they had the first decade or so of their existence. I remember making a "Best of BTNH" mix from all the CDs I have for them (Yes, I have every single BTNH CD, be it the group or solo albums they had), and in-between the 5 'original' BTNH members, I got over 30 tracks and was barely able burn them on two CDs. I am a huge fan and I am hoping they sort of resurrect themselves onto the scene with their upcoming album. It's not a question of sales, because they sell enough based entirely on their fan base and very, very little (if any) advertisement. But yes, I will be the first to admit that it seems like they've stopped caring about producing quality records a few years back, although they will still have a good record once in a while that sort of keeps you hooked. I heard three tracks off their new album and they're good. I hope it's better than their last one.
damn you're a huge fan! i have all the albums too except for faces of death. thats so hard to find.... whats their new album called??? do you know when its coming out? they came out with an internet only album called bone 4 life. i dont have that one either. do you if thats any good?
this is from wikipedia In 2003, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony left Ruthless Records and began a search for a new home. In 2005, the group—minus Bizzy Bone—signed with producer Swizz Beatz's Full Surface Records (an imprint of J Records) and began recording a new album, which is expected to be released in mid-2006. The album is said to be produced by Swizz Beatz, Kanye West, Lil' Jon, Three 6 Mafia, Big Boi of Outkast, Play-N-Skillz, Timbaland and Dr. Dre. According to Bone, the album will feature all-new vocals from imprisoned member Flesh-N-Bone. In September 2005, the group released an internet-only enhanced CD titled Bone 4 Life, featuring six new tracks produced by D.J. U-Neek and a behind the scenes video. The group also plans to independently release an album titled Strength And Loyalty in 2006. The album is scheduled to include previously unreleased material from Bone's past as well as all-new material. dunno if any of that is true cuz it is from wikipedia... if they're with aftermath now, theyre def. gonna make a comeback!
LL Cool J shouldnt be on the list, longevity doesnt equal greatness. especially if u announce yourself as the greatest of all time. that pretty much means you're not. and i think Illmatic is the greatest rap album of all time.
I think longevity should have something to do with it because the game is constantly changing. LL has been able to adapt to these changes and remain successful even when others were questioning what he was doing, I remember people doing this when he came out with "Hey Lover" back in the 90's and "I Need Love" earlier than that. Longevity should be considered but I think that is LL's best feature and that is why he came in at 10 on their list probably.
Yeah, it's a mainstream list... Albums, Groups, or MCs that should have been on it one way or another. Q-Tip Low End Theory Outkast's Stankonia 3 Feet High and Rising and De la Soul is Dead Wu-Tang (you've got to be kidding) Kool Keith (Dr. Octagon...anything?) Prince Paul's A Prince Among Thieves Beastie Boys (I'm actually surprised they didn't have them on an MTV list) MFDoom or MadLib
IMO he is up there but it's all good. He has the total package: Lyrics, Delivery, Voice is off the charts, Passion. Listen to his lyrics and most every song tells a story and portrays things so vividly that you can see it in your mind. Most rappers today just yell and scream words that are disconnected from one another and have no meaning. X may not be political like Pac but at least he tells stories of his grimmy origins. Nas and Jay-Z are awesome and deserve to be up there but they have their fare share of crappy albums. X doesn't have one album that is dirt crappy. The Blueprint 2 was garbage, especially after the original Blueprint was a classic. Nas has several garbage albums.
i like busta a lot too. all his albumss are really good. i think his new album is gonna go hard cuz he's with dre and aftermath now...if he's not in the top 10 he's in top 15 or 20
