Great list... But I think Eminem should be on every list. Know he went a bit mainstream and sometimes too much comedy, but his first albums were straight classic, MMLP and Shady should be considered top 20 all time at least. Also one of the best lyrically and skill-wise.
I think Shady is a great lyricist (he murdered Jay-Z's Blue Print album)... But I don't have him nor Rakim (and it's a crime to mention Rakim without Eric B) in my top 10 because they do not have enough tracks I would listen to on the regular. People not having Z-Ro in their top 10 is weird to me especially considering this is the south. Dude puts in work. I have over 20 of his albums and mix tape. Lyrically and stylistically he runs circles around many of these rappers people are rambling off. The New York Times voted him one of Americas most underrated rappers. Myka Nyne out of Cali is great as well.
Agreed on Z-Ro, I'm apathetic at best when it comes to Eminem. Also, the lack of Pimp C/UGK and Scarface (I did see one) mentions is weird as well. Some of you don't deserve to be from the South, much less Houston. Joking, kinda...

The reason I didn't put Scareface in my top 10 is because he wasn't writing all of his own lyrics (at least early on in his career... so I've heard). But he would be in my top 10-15 for all time great rap albums. I agree with what you say about UGK (and I'm not joking at all.. lol)... And I 100% believe Pimp C was murdered. The music industry is vicious and The Pimp was talking a lot of hot shyt when he got out of jail (like 2pac was).
i agree with outkast, but disagree with nwa and ice cube ice cube had more solo albums than nwa had albums
agree that gza and big boi have to be in there. loved special ed's comeback attempt. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/QdL5AIfRulI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I was just going by his criteria of record sales and impact.. And NWA as a group had more of an impact than Ice Cube as a solo artist considering they were one of the 1st mainstream gangster rap groups. But Cube ghost wrote most of the hits for NWA anyway which is probably why they fell off without him. I liked what he did with Westside Connection as well. Dude put in a lot of work.
