It's a very bad joke, and it wasn't meant in any way actually related to you, but rather how close your moniker is to a certain pejorative racial term for a black man who tried too hard to fit in with a white-dominated system.
As a follow up to that, here in the UK, she's only referred to as Australian really... There might be the occasional piece about her racial heritage, but generally, she's just an Aussie.
