Understood, but you would think that only applies to people who drink 2 liters a day for 20 years.

Just like EVERYTHING else, moderation is the key.

McDonalds has been around for decades and it's only recently that our kids have become fat-asses. I think it has more to do with them sitting on their asses playing video games, texting each other, and watching Nickelodeon all day instead of playing outside.

[old fart post]I ate plenty of junkfood as a kid, but I was outside running around, playing football, riding bikes, climbing trees, swimming etc. every day after school until the sun went down. On weekends, it was the same except it started at 8am instead of 3pm. I ate a bunch of crap, but I was skinny as a rail. [/old fart post]

Everything here is definitely worth repeating. I agree completely and it was the same way for me.

It is a fact that kids are more sedentary. One of the big reasons is parental fear. Significantly fewer parents let their kids run around the neighborhood by themselves.

I know, and that to me, is so sad. Hard to blame the parents though, if you watch the news on a regular basis.

It's really too bad for today's kids that their parents can't say "just be home before dinner!" like ours did 20 or 30 years ago.

I think they can. Similar stuff has always gone on, it's just not covered in such detail by the hundreds of hours of "news" programming that all the channels have to fill every week.

I disagree with that... every Vegan I know is pasty and frail. They'll dry up and blow away by the time they reach 55.

(Apologies to any Vegans reading this... I didn't mean you when I was describing Vegans.)
