bunch of haters, where else would you be able to get FREAKING 5 double cheese burgers for 5 bucks? and it tastes pretty damn good too.. Never could understand what everyone's problem with that place is.. I don't give a damn about the calories and the unhealthiness, because unlike the fata$$es who complain about McD's makin them fat, I get off my lazy a$$ and indulge in physical activity, maybe you should try that too and then you can enjoy that insanely affordable badass food..
Exactly. You get what you pay for and its actually worth it. Its cheap, good, and fast. What more do you want? If you think its unhealthy don't eat there.
When it comes to taste, Subway sucks ass. Can't stand it. Their grilled chicken sandwich is simply the worst POS sandwich in history. McDonalds, calories and marketing aside, the food is actually not bad.
I understand your point, but its a matter of social responsibility. They know that the majority of their customer base is lower-income minorities who simply can't afford better food and probably don't even understand exactly how unhealthy the food they're eating is for them. McDonalds is a business, but it would be nice if a corporation of that size and influence cared more about the products they were feeding us. It would be proper.
There have been times in my life where I've indulged in McDonald's a lot, especially the Double Cheeseburgers on the Dollar Menu. I have cut down on fast food greatly in the past few months, but I really have no reason to eat there any more with the proliferation of other budget menus at fast food places. If I eat any cheap fast food burger these days, It's going to be the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger with ketchup instead of mayo. And to the person that apparently eats five double cheeseburgers at a time...I don't care how much you exercise, that ain't healthy.
I'm neither poor nor a minority and I eat 2 or 3 meals at Mcdonalds every week. If I was poor, I would eat there even more! A mcdouble and a small fry is a hella of a deal regardless of how poor you are. I guess we should close down all fast food resturants and have farmers markets on every corner instead And the fact that you bring up minorities just shows how some view minorities as people who can't figure out right from wrong..........which is elitist
Who wouldn't want to eat with this as spokesman? Looking at this picture makes realize why America has a weight problem.
Yes, yes, McDonalds is the devil. In-n-Out is awesome. Every other place is irrelevant... Not even trying to point out moes' obvious hypocrisy. Just stating that blaming a company for making people fat is r****ded. All I know is that when my size 38 pants started getting tight 10 years ago, I changed my diet intake. It doesn't take a genius. The dining experience is quite different in countries outside of America( where the majority of people view it as the fastest way to fill up your stomach - so they eat and eat instead of savoring the taste or quality of food). McDonald's has a pretty positive and affluent brand image in countries outside of America. Even in India, where the initial franchises were stoned for providing beef, they've changed their business cycle to highlight veggie items and now cater primarily to the upper class. And like pippen mentioned, the meat is taken from local providers so you don't taste certain hormones and antibiotics. The real estate point is valid as well, McDonald's holds prime real estate all over the world. I mean who wouldn't want to eat here!
This thread just wouldn't be complete without Ronny showing up to remind us how culturally superior the rest of the world is to America. Of course, Europeans don't have to worry how much bad food they eat because their superior immune systems guarantee that they'll maintain a healthy weight and ideal hip/waist ratios, right?
I can't think of a whole lot of other restaurants or businesses in general that would patronize and employ (and promote) minorities on the scale that Micky D's probably does. I don't know that the Paneras, Whole Foods or Noodles & Co. of the world would or could set up shop in Chocolate City. But I've seen fully packed Popeye's in Southwest Omaha, so I could be wrong.
I'm thinking this is a critical or at least satirical image of Ronald McDonald, note the "dollar-sign" necklace of corporate greed.
