    Dear Mr. Mbutu,
    This sounds like a tremendous opportunity. I couldn't help but notice that you are from the great country of Nigeria, as is Mr. Hakeem "the Dream" Olajuwon. As a shrewd businessman, Mr. Olajuwon would be thrilled to help out a fellow Nigerian like yourself. However, when speaking to Hakeem, I recommend you "fockass." Mr. Olajuwon has many high-yield investments in the greater Houston area, including his 17 or so Denny's restaurants. I would welcome the opportunity to travel to Lagos to discuss this matter further.

    Regards,

    Dateline did a special on this skam. Some idiots sent upwards of $60K to Nigeria. The skam is so sophisticated, in the Dateline episode, the con artists gave bank phony bank accounts at bank in America, and gave people the automated lines to check the balances. These bank accounts, suppodesly held the money.. Somehow, they set it up so when you called the number and typed in the account it routed you to a taping that they made.

    My response:

    Dear Barrister Mark ******;

    Boy, do Ihave a surprise for you! I was, I have to admit, a little skeptical of your offer when I first got it, so i did a little internet search for myself....and are you ever going to be happy that I did! In the course of my search I came into contact with another lawyer, who told me two important things: First, he said that your offer was not only legit, but common practice with the disruption of world markets these days...and second, Hold on to your hat, he said that he himself was in fact in the middle of a similar search, and the name in question is (Fill in Barrister Mark's Last Name) !!!!!!! Can you believe this!?!?!?! What a small world!

    He says that you should quickly give me your information, as he has even less time than you have to complete his search...and he also said that I would not be unreasonable to expect a small fee for playing middle man in this.

    So, please send me all your relevant information as soon as possible, and I will put you in touch with my new lawyer friend!

    Looking forward to hearing from you A.S.A.P.

    You know the first time I got this e-mail scam, I tried to reply back to the provided e-mail address with two words:

    "**** You"

    It bounced back with a mailer-daemon error. I guess the creators of that particular e-mail scam weren't too bright themselves.

    My favorite one is where the so-called president of Nigeria wrote a personal letter to my father.... with a ballpoint pen.

    I was impressed with this variation that I got the other day. Pretty soon I imagine I'm going to be recieving this from like August Pinochet or the grandson of Joseph Goebles, or somehting.
