I thought you weren't too high on stats. What happened? Kinda convenient to just bring up stats when only you want too?

The thread was originally intended to propose a dumbass trade: Tony Parker for EG and Cat. Now it's degraded into an even stupider topic: Manu vs. Cat. Come on, how can you say that Manu is better than Cat? He takes WAY too many defensive risks (because he has Duncan on the inside) which bolsters his steals stats. All those moves he showed in the Lakers series and even the NJ series were not amazing when shown on replay. That "cross" of Shaq was just a sidestep. Manu may become a better player in a few years, but Mobley is not that bad an off guard to have. People on this BBS complain about how the Rockets need to get back in the playoff picture right now. Yet, you're arguing about who is better: Manu who is at best a backup SG right now, and Mobley, who probably could be a starter on almost any team? For the team right now, Mobley is a better player. On ANY team, Mobley is a better player.

This was my favorite one. When Cat was a rookie, he played with not 1 superstar, but three. Barkley, Olajuwon, and Pippen. Even with those guys and Dickerson ahead of him he still put up better numbers than Ginobili. I think as a second option, he would put up better numbers than he did as a fifth option rookie.

I agree with you dawg, yes Cat & Steve are selfish iso players, but does anyone remember watching JVG's near championship Knick team with Sprewell and Allan Houston, no typical little bring the ball up point guard, plus they still had Ewing; and they used their power-forwards well too, LJ and Kurt Thomas. Our team has a similar dynamic, Cat/Steve, Yao and MoTaylor and our new young fowards. I think he will apply a similar offensive scheme, but Yao will be the first option because he is our best passer, but steve will be shooting the most. Jeff is very smart, if anyone can teach/coach it its him. That was the problem last year, too much talent no direction, Steve and cat need direction, Yao just has great basketball instincts, that can't be taught. Jeff recognizes that, he'll get them playing together, I see us making the playoffs, in the West that is saying something, its a step in the right direction. As far as Eddie goes he needs motivation, this is his dress rehearsal by Dec. if he doesn't show the passion Jeff will trade him. I don't J making any serious moves this off season because our team does has depth, they just didn't show it, lazy asses. But I believe AGAIN, Feel better Rudy.;) ;)
