Francis is less a team player. Thus, he would have a negative effect on the Spurs in that aspect.

So, although Duncan would still get his stats alone. His team would suffer due to Francis's inept ability to run the PG position.

    How do we define "better"?

The only thinng I know is that

I would bet more on SA with TP and TD than SF and TD for a title run

Yup, and I've been saying Parker is the best 'young' PG since he destroyed GP a couple of years ago like no one has EVER.
Only other person worth mentioning is Bibby.

Just look at the way Parker plays.
Simple basic crossovers, enter the lane, and either lay it up, shoot a floater, or dish it off.

Hate TP cuz of all the damn man-loving he gets on the BBS, but I have to admit, I do love that floater/teardrop shot of his...

Put steve in a spurs uniform and the lakers will meet the grizzlies. Steve is a freaking athlete. he can score, he can rebound, he sometimes dish ok, once in a while he defends with his more than a steal per game, he can dunk. Then it stops here. These are what follows. He is dumb, he cant finish a fastbreak, he dribbles a lot, he has too many techs for a pg, he commits too many to's, he's not a good perimeter shooter, he is not a leader, in his fifth season he still commits the same mistakes again and again and again why because he is dumb, he is sometimes selfish, he doesnt want yao to be the man although everybody knows he is already the man, he is a gay, he loves cuttino, he is dumb, he is dumb, he is dumb. Tony parker > steve francis. Duncan > yao. In 3 years time, parker > steve, duncan = yao believe me.

Would it be too much trouble to post San Antonio's team fastbreak points during that 10 game stretch? (The Rox avg less tha 8 per game). Thx.

my edit function isn't working but those numbers look good to me .

    18 pts a game at a good pct ( .477 and .538) with 6 assists and 1.8 to in 35 min.

It clearly help to play with Tim Duncan but Tony Parker is not only a product of tim's game.

    Do you agree?

BTW in games with TD he scored 14.1 pts at a worse pct ( .442 and .277) with less assists 5.4 and more to ( 2.47).

What make Tony parker soooo great is that he is a champion DESPITE the fact that, as a Frenchman  , he is inherently prone to surrender!!

damn has the wonder boy ^assists per game  wow that is alot more than the 6.2 assists of ball hog Francis:rolleyes:
i like parker to as a point guard i would love to have him BUT francis can take over the game like no other can, he has had a bad year but he had to adapt to his new role. He will be a great player again next year

Can anyone that has watched the Lakers a lot this season tell me how point guards generally do against them? I'm trying to put into perspective the performance Steve had against them? Trying to figure out if all of the credit should go to Steve playing fantastic basketball or if some of the credit should go to the Lakers point guards sucking on defense and the Lakers big men being slow as hell on their help defense. I've never seen Gary Payton play worse defense than the D i have seen him play these playoffs.

all biases aside, tony parker is way faster and quicker. let's not even talk about who's better since this involves subjectivity. parker is one of the fastest players in the nba, period.

Spurs were 6-4 with TD out.

Mathematically they would have won 49 games with 33 losses if TD were out for the whole season. That is still better than 45-37 with a second year SF3 playing without zone defense.

sure, i can simply take our record for some stretch

Rockets were 6-3 in start of last season while ming werent in production, and Steve avged like 25ppg, while shooting over 45%

and Mathematically we would be like 55-27 by the end of last season.

(I love YM, but m jsut showing u TP is not better than SF!)
