And he's still a better point guard.

    But not a better player.

Total collapse by Parker, I think he bought into too much of his hype the first 2 games of the series, now his team is facing possible elimination.

I'm pretty much in a neutral position on Stevie, but all I gotta say is he brought it in every game of the Rox/Lakers series. Parker now looks pretty much lost after the Lakers decided to D up on him. At the very least, Steve never got that "deer in the headlights" look that Parker has now.

I know what you mean. It pisses me off too but it's not worth stressing over it b/c it the end whatever's best for Steve and the team will happen. Steve is a top 10 talent in this league and just needs to be in the right situation to succeed. If Houston is not that place for whatever reasons, then he will do it elsewhere. If the Rockets become a top 3 or 4 team by getting rid of him then that's great b/c the Rockets as a team come first. I just don't see how getting rid of him for a couple of scrubs make the team better.

Yeah but some people just have pure HATE in their hearts and don't like to form their own opinions so they go along with what everyone else says. I hear callers on the radio all the time saying Steve is an Idiot and steve sucks and we should trade him just to get rid of him and have no valid arguments for their position. Yeah the guy turns the ball over more than we like but he does so many other things that completely overshadow those TO's. Just wait until Yao is dominant and gets close or even half of Duncan or KG's level and the ROckets will be a powerhouse. Peace.

Wait not fellas. . . let's not let this great thread fall too far. . . . ..

Tim is struggling . .. and now so is Parker. . . interesting
    but
Francis struggles without a Tim Duncan type player
and he is the anti-christ. . . . what is really going on

tony parker is a nice young point, but he is still just a role player, you can stick speedy claxton and win a championship as long as tim duncan is playing like Tim Duncan!

No that's not correct. Speedy Claxton is not a shooter like Tony parker is. That boy can score when he wants to and knows how to finish at the basket. He is not afraid to take it to the hole against shaq.

Yes Speedy is a good point gaurd and can feed Tim all night but that will not be enough. Look how much Tony actually scores and hits crucial shots when they need it.

Yes he is young right now and the older he gets he is going to get better and better.

It seemed like enough last year when claxton put parker on the bench and won the title.

Parker is a very talented point guard. He will probably be a premier point guard in about 5 years (if he stays healthy). But, he is not a scorer!(Not yet) He is not a good shooter!(Not yet) And, he turns the ball over! He is AVERAGE right now!

I like Parker. He;s a surprisingly good finisher for his size with those floaters (a lost art in the nba).
I'd say he's about at the same level as Steve. They each have different strengths.

He is still a better scorer than Claxton which the reference was made to.

Parker shoots .447 this season and .318 from 3pt range. His regular percentage is just fine for a guard. He lacks the range right now but i think he will get better in time.

Claxton shoots about .421 from the field and a whopping .181 from 3 point range.

Compared to Claxton he IS a scorer and doesn't hesitate to shoot if need be. He might not be the most consistant right now which will change with time, but he is a legitimate scoring option compared to claxton.

Lets not even go to compare this to Francis who shot .402 from the field and .292 from 3 point range. Which is way below his career but either way Parker is a better option than Francis as well.

I am in no way a Steve Hater. Where have i said anything about hating steve. I am a Rockets fan through and through i might not like some of the things going on or feel we can get better i am not saying i hate steve, yao or anyone else.

Please get that straight...my comments were comparing Parker and Claxton.

He is just a very mature player for only being in this league a little time and being so young. People are just looking for those type of smarts in Francis. So that's why they make the comparison.
