cmon you never see agents mentioned anywhere in any kind of perplexing stuff like this one and these guys basically own the league...you are telling me there is no money in the ( mind boggling) distribution of playing time ( and you are being paid only a million)...perhaps agents promised him a future job even....

    Sincere reason.

    8. Spacing and vets

He wanted spacing so staggering one big at a time. Since Gordon already called up for an injured KPJ pg spot, he went with seniority and used House. Then Theis with 2nd unit and Alperen was a casualty. If Silas trusted KJ's 3ball trusted more, he could take House's spot. Same with Sengun for Theis, although even with lack of 3pt attempted, Alperen hasn't been too bad the two games before the 5min one.

(my take: KJ showed improvement on this 3 ball last year, and is actually better than House in 3pt% this season. KJ 31.3%. House 26.7%, which is really bad. Armoni at 23.3% (like WTH Brooks). It's like whatever Rocket's doing behind the scenes, it's making our 3pt players worse. I fear Garrison may succumb to this. Garrison is at 33% right now; small sample ). KJ should get House's spot.

Sengun don't take lot of 3's, but at the time of this posting; he's the only one shooting league average 37.5% at 3s. o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O. So maybe Sengun should take House spot. <insert Sengun's dance gif> :D:D:D.

    Mental gymnastics here:
If Sengun started instead of House and Theis still 2nd unit, It's likely Silas / Stone might have broke whatever promise to Theis when Theis free agent signed here. Since Theis and Al-P played similar position, it make things awkward.

Conspiracy reason (and a bit mean)
    9. Not merit based but, House's family tragedy situation. New baby. Giving him some playing time because House could be playing his last NBA season. (For the record, I personally don't believe this, Silas is desperate to break the losing streak).

I don't think spacing was a bad idea, but if spacing I would have gone further and plugged KJ or Garrison for staring and 2nd unit. If Wood is playing badly, bring up a staggered Theis or Al-p up sooner.

Hind sight is 20/20, no win over OKC was a squandered opportunity; it's too bad Rockets can't end the L streak.

Honestly we lost the OKC game, because Wood couldn't help carry us in offense. Lot of close to the basket misses. As much as I like Tate, when Rockets does that dump off thing to Tate when Green or Wood use their gravity; Tate being undersized sometimes have problems finishing when opponent recovers on D in the paint. Not saying we give up on that play; but it gets predictable eventually and teams catch on.

Green had a good 1st half, but disappeared in 2nd half. They did put Dort on Green, while Rockets respect Dort's defense, maybe it would have been nice to see Green attacking Dort.

Also Dort cooked us on the other end, Green and the team defense couldn't contain him. Left him too open and he got hot. Role players on other teams aren't bad, but they have career nights against this Rockets for some reason.

This is the thing where I don't mind if Green's meh on Defense, but bruh, if you're hot 1st half, you got to be aggressive 2nd half. Green's offense has to offset his bad defense. All this shuffling around the lineup for spacing is for Green and Wood, if they don't take advantage of it, sacrificing Al P's minutes and pissing off his dad would have been for nothing.

Starting of Q3, there were plays where Green and Wood didn't want the ball, played hot potato, dumps it to Tate as the clock ran down, to create off the dribble from the perimeter. What happened to the play that you guys are supposed to run? We're not talking MIA, MIL, or PHX defense, this is OKC.

Sengun is not Chris Paul by any means, but relatively to how bad our guys are getting into the action, this is one of the reasons Al-P should be on the court.

ok even if hes not hes surely on a higher level as a player than silas is as a coach

you fire silas level coach any day of the week over a player of alperen caliber
any coach could take silases job and we wouldnt even notice except in a positive way

oth theres not much players like sengun

Yeah I've been starting to feel like these are marching orders. Too many nonsensible moves and arrangements. Stone is pulling a Hinkie.

The reason is the team is no good and there is no rotation that would make them substantially better. they are playing Gordon and House to see if some team in dumb enough to bite on one of them. What's the difference; they'll be terrible no matter what they do.

More than 1 win is not impossible.

Unless you're Silas, who is trending towards FIVE total wins this season..

‘They can be improved. It’s going to take years, be a painful process for fans, and there’s no guarantee of success.

It is eerie how Stephen Silas silenced two missiles with one stone, easily.

It was fair to give Silas a clean slate this year, but he needs to go. 1-15 is a joke.
