Despite all of Linsanity's incredible highs, there is a lot more basketball for Lin to learn for the long term than just taking final shots to win games.

And if you truly believe Lin not playing in the final minutes of the past several games is proof that McHale has no confidence in Lin's abilities, here's a Twitter account you might be interested in following:

Yeah I do. The PG spot is one of the toughest to learn. Guys like Steve Nash, Chauncey Billups and Tony Parker took several seasons before figuring things out.

I'd rather see Lin take his time and learn the ropes for this season than wear out while trying to play 40 minutes of heroball every game.

what's that got to do with him getting benched even when he's playing well?

It means he's getting plenty of playing time, and not being benched. If you really want to see what being benched means, look up VSpan or TWill.

But unless he's on the court to close out games like he did during Linsanity, and unless he is McHale's clearcut "favorite" over Douglas (whatever the hell that means), you guys don't think any of that matters.

You need to watch some more basketball.

so you don't think getting benched in the crunch time is important?

    amazing.

No, it's not the end-all be-all measurement of a player's value that you and a lot of Lin's fans claim it to be.

I'm glad that TD is playing better nowadays... he may not play like Lin, but somehow he complements Harden on the court.... It is not Lin Vs TD when it comes to closing the game, the coaches are currently more comfortable having Harden doing it, with a set of players that will best complement his style... This is Harden's team after all.. while they still trying to figure out how best mesh Lin and Harden... TD is a stop-gap option and luckily he is starting to get his mojo back... and we all should be happy..

It is not lack of confidence in Lin... Lin still got his playing time, maybe not too much, but probably just right for his still recovering knee... we do not know what really went on during practices, or whether the knee is 100% yet.. be glad that the coaches are not pushing Lin too much... Often Lin may be too eager to perform but may not realize his limitations in game... MAybe Lin still have something to learn from Douglas...

Of course, I'm also not very excited about the benchings in 4th Q.. because I love watching exciting and dramatic finishes... and that is the kind of things some people associated with Lin.. however, there are 60 more games this season.. even if I got to see 10 games with a touch of Linsanity out of 60, spread over the season without any serious injury, I'm more than happy...

it shows the lack of trust, and it's hindering the growth of a young player/backcourt with a lot of upside, and IMO it's very disrespectful.

not to mention the silly mchale/sampson post game interviews, it's hilarious to the point i'm actually wishing lin gets bench just so i can hear another bs excuse.

I would like to point out that many of those 5 man units did not have enough minutes to be statistically significant.

    Sigh.

Yeah alright. Feel free to believe that the Rockets coaching staff is spending their days and nights scheming to ruin the promising career of one Jeremy Lin.

    I'm out.

very happy for TD. He has done well in the last few games. Hope it increases his marginal value and we can trade him and Cook.

This is an insult to Uglas; Uglas is 10,000x the troll magnet Battier has ever been.

For all it's worth, so glad to see finally Tony Douglas is getting some recognition on the CF. He is first rate classy and a hard working athlete. Everyone has different growth curve. Truly hope he will be able to grow continuously as a player and carve out a niche for himself in the league.

TD should start since lin is always fine with everything im sick of seeing him passing then go to a corner at least TD has the confidence to throw up shots its also pointless to start lin an let him play 20 mins ither lin mans up or let td start
