Well, with Pat Williams saying the talks would go on into July and now Doc Rocket feeling certain the trade will be announced tomorrow, I wonder if Feigans negative article about the way the Orlando Magic are handling this is having something to do with this sudden change of mind. I think it may of had an effect.

Dampier had a great year. He's going to get a big payday from some team. I very seriously doubt he'll be on the Rockets. However, if Van Exel opt's out of his contract, hmmmmm......

Orlando's management seems very impatient. Where would the Magic be right now if they had patiently waited for players like Matt Harpring, Corey Maggette, Ben Wallace, Troy Hudson, Mike Miller and Chauncey Billups to develop? Probably not in the predicament that they're currently in. Hopefully, Gaines develops into a good player and will be added to the long list of players Orlando prematurely gave up on.
They'll get love regardless, but that would be the cherry on the top of the cake. I know Dampier is a long shot, but he has said he would take a pay cut for the right situation. Never say never!

Dampier is the guy the Mavericks should pursue. That way, they keep their current nucleous & get a dominant big man in the middle.
