that's why i like bullard. he doesn't like flops, and points them out even when our guys do it. yes, he can be stunningly obvious sometimes, but i love my white boy!
Tommy did, but honestly, Mike wasn't that bad. He was actually trying to temper some of the more outrageous things that Tommy said.
come on guys, every announcers outside TNT and ESPN are on the payroll of each their respective teams, of course they have to side w/ their teams to please the fans!
But then there's Magic Johnson as a TNT analyst while he's still a minority share holder of the Lakers... WTF is up with that? All he cares about is the Lakers.
I hate Tommy Heinson's current broadcasting abilities. That being said, I'll go tinman on you guys and point out one fact where Heinson was 100% correct regarding the Rockets. He was making the calls on CBS's broadcast back in 86 when Houston was facing off against the Lakers in the WCF. In the infamous Ralph Sampson alley-oop game, Heinson called the play perfectly, from the offensive and defensive perspective. Right before that final play started, he made the statement that someone from the Lakers needed to be all over the guy throwing the ball in from out of bounds. And secondly, he stated that the Lakers should be on guard for a lob in from out of bounds. He nailed it on both accounts. No one covered Rodney McCray and the Lakes allowed a relatively easy entry pass to Sampson. Heinson's one correct instance starts @ 3:30 Additionally, listening to Heinson during this 20+ year old telecast, you can tell that senility is creeping up on Tommy. His thoughts are nowhere near as coherent as they were and homerism is the easiest way out.
that old geezer was getting on my nerves too.. he was talking shiet about that one ref all night.. about him having red goggles and only making calls in favor of the Rox..
The Celtics have been paying him for most of his adult life (as a player and announcer). I would expect him to be a homer, he's just unabashed about. He was a pretty good play by play guy for CBS back in the day.
Agreed. Mike was actually pretty fair and Tommy got on him when he said he thought Aarron Brooks successfully saved a ball out of bounds that the refs missed. I just can not stand Tommy Hienson.
I'm pretty sure he's drunk by halftime every night. He seems to slur more after the break. Hot Rod Hundley? But what an ego-maniac. Tommy points? Does he really think people care? And he LOVED Tony Battie. I want to know what the value of Tommy points is compared to Shrute Bucks.
