Thibs probably wouldn't mind his focus would be defense. Though the plays we do run don't exactly foster open 3's and layups now anyway.

Better snatch him up before the Lakers do. Byron Scott days are numbered.

If Harden was playing for Thibs, he'd have no excuse not to play D because Thibbs would get on his ass for sleeping on the D

Thibs would bench his ass. He coached the Bulls to plenty of wins despite Derrick Rose's absence. He could do the same with the Rockets sans Harden.

Players hate thibs because he demands to much of them aka Chicago Bulls. Houston needs someone like this

Thibs would get effort. That alone would cause dramatic improvement.

If you get Thibs it will come with a lot of Harden isolation plays, walking the ball up the court and no ability to create a decent shot at the end of games. That crap works in the east but not in the west.

Basically what our offense looks like now when we don't get out on the break? I'll take that if we defend with effort.

Seriously, that works when the opponent is scoring in the 80's. We'd have a better version of the Rose MVP bulls which won like 60 games. Yes in the east, but we'd have a more talented version.

Why does everybody think Morey micromanages the coach? He doesnt. He just hires the guy. He knows he's not a coach and doesnt have those skills and has said it in interviews.

    Two sepearate issues.
Saying that Thibs is NOT a top 5 coach is not the same than saying he isn't in the top 5 available choices we have now since there are few good coaches available to start the season.

But Thibs is not a good choice for the organisation. There's no way he will be able to work with management.

Very important post. Thibs does come with an expiration date for all the things you have said.
The offence WILL suck and in fact it will suck even worse, and the clash with the managment is a foregone conclusion.

Isn't Chris Finch responsible for the team's offense (read and react)? It may not change much if Thibodeau is hired.

Thibs will have Howard playing 47 mpg when he sees how our backups defend. I think he might be our best shot at a title this season, but next season expect Howard to turn into Joakim Noah with knees of dust.

Capela is a fine backup defender.

In his last season with the Bulls he actually started to see the light, maybe because he realized his job was in jeopardy
