Thibodeau picking McHale's brain on offence. Btw guys..the schemes of Thib's defence have already spread around the league seasons ago. That's why he had problems last year. Because what he does the other's have copied but he's very bad at innovative offensive shemes etc.

Want to know why Thibbs had great D? Why Doc had great D? Why JVG had great D? Why all three had horrid O? Because defensive coaches wear the clock out, neither team generates points due to little possessions. Want to know why D'Antoni had great O and no D? Want to know why McHale has great O and no D? It's because they want to run the floor and get quality shots early in the clock, thus giving both teams more possessions. No coaching scheme, none, with offer great offense and defense. You can only dream to have great offensive players that play great defense, not too many of those around, cant have 5 lebrons on the same team, and even then, he coasts sometimes.
What they need to be talking about is Harden's ABA shorts. I wouldn't wear those if you paid me $200 million. But Thibs ... Man, would I love to have him running our D. That's one of the few things that could seriously upgrade our chances of winning a championship.
Yeah I mean running players into the ground when the team is already injury prone to begin with is not a factor at all The league has changed, good offense beats great defenses so a guy like Thibs who focuses on the wrong side of the ball is useless already, the most you can get is be like the Grizz who are good team but not seen as real contenders. Plus unlike offenses defensive schemes are easily copied, I'm pretty sure Spurs, OKC, GSW and other top teams already implemented a ton of his techniques.
