actually, nash is on keyboards- this is the deja vu/4-way street era band. paul sammuels (i think), the bass player, looks about 15 years old!

    Agree.

Please stop whatever you're doing and buy this album:

I don't care if you're having a wank, reading US Magazine, or eating some boneless buffalo wings. Stop what you're doing, and buy that album.

    Steve Winwood on B3. Nice.

I LOVE ELO. They did start lip-synching at the end - it was the 80's. Everyone did at that time. But, they were so damn cool on record.

I appreciate Clapton and recognize him as a great guitarist, but he is not someone I find myself wanting to listen to over and over like Hendrix, Page, Gilmour, and Satriani.

Speaking of guitarists - there might not be a more underrated guitarist out there than Brian May of Queen.

Most of Clapton's post-Derek work is tripe. I can't imagine ever wanting to play or replay anything he's put out since 1971 or so. His first solo album is brilliant, "From the Cradle" is ok (mixed very loudly, for some reason), but I can't stand the rest -- including "Slowhand," which solid eight trillion copies.

But I listen to the Bluesbreakers album way way wayyy more than I listen to any old Hendrix. Have for years. Much more than Page's best, though not as much as I listen to Jeff Beck's first two solo albums (with Rod singing).

Hendrix was brilliant, but if I had to choose, I'd take Bluesbreakers over his best. Just my personal opinion. The blues stuff is just my bag, and Hendrix was more in the rock vein (though I'm well aware he's stealing Albert King licks over and over). Bluesbreakers had less wah, less fuzz, less craziness. Just a straight-ahead, full bore Anglo blues album.

Not arguing that Hendrix wasn't "better" in any other sense, but I don't let the crap that Clap has churned out over the last 35 years devalue what was some amazing work he did with Mayall, the Yardbirds, and the Dominoes (not as big a fan of the Cream work).

Been listening to quite a bit of Harvey Mandel recently, too. His name isn't brought up enough.

KD, ever hear any early Fleetwood Mac when they were a Blues band? Peter Green was probably the best British Blues Guitarist IMHO.

If you can find a song called "Greeny", you will see what I mean.

Yeah, Green's the tops. McVie also plays on that Beano album.

Love all those guys, though Rory Gallagher's my favorite.

Just wanted to thank this thread starter peleincubus for introducing me to this site (YouTube)

Good article in Newsweek about it. Calling it the "Video Napster."

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11617588/site/newsweek/

I have been on the site for 2 days, watching everything from Richard Pryor and George Carlin (complete HBO standup show) to Bob Dylan rare videos and tons of other rare music videos.

Enjoy the site before it is shut down. Because it will definitley be shut down because of copyright issues.
