Rhoades just botched his first hire worse than anyone I have ever seen. Rookie AD. Rookie mistake.

So question for UH folks. I never kept up with the athletic director before. Why was Maggard replaced exactly?

Cause he wasn't hired by Dr. Khator.

He was looking to retire soon, but he was forced out due to differences between him and the BOR/Prez over faciltiies.

Should have pulled the trigger on Marlin.

Billy G would have been a home run. Marlin would have been a double. Dickey is a strike out. Better off keeping Penders and not paying his buyout.

I can't wait to hear the introduction from the AD. They always make the new guy sound so good. "We searched far and wide for the best coach in the land, and today I can say that with out a doubt we are lucky to have James Dickey as our new coach"

Ah, I finally get it. Mack left UTEP at the instruction of Bob Stull in order to bring down the Coogs.

Seriously, my condolences. I expected a much better hire from y'all...

Im going to give him a chance before I bash the dude but I sure was hoping for a splash by hiring BCG. Coogs football will have buzz in September and ther basketball team would have had buzz also. Oh well......

Instead, the basketball team will have chirping...as in the crickets you will be able to hear during the games due to the lack of ticketholders.

This man, Mack Rhoades, has the arduous task ahead of him of raising money for new athletic facilities at Houston. He has now destroyed any faith and goodwill that fans had towards him. He has hamstrung himself and the University severely. Mack Rhoades better pray to Jesus, Allah, and Odin that Kevin Sumlin has an incredible season this year, or he's going to be doing some SERIOUS begging.

Hell, we all might want to attend church this Sunday...

Im not a UH alum, but I support them as my hometown college team, but this AD has to be mentally challenged. Even if Billy Clyde were to bolt aftre one year, he'd put people in the stands, and would probably bring in one of the best recruiting classes in recent years. All the quality candidates and he brings in this guy? Major, major, major fail.

Where are the boosters? Im sure there has to be some group of people who are angry about this.

Billy Clyde Gillespie could've woke up every morning lying in the Cullen Fountain with whiskey on his breath and a dead hooker in his trunk for all I care. He wins and people would watch.

James Dickey could wake up in Cullen Fountain with whiskey on his breath and a dead hooker in his trunk and still no one would know who he is. Mack Rhoades just wagered his entire career on this Ford Taurus to win a drag race. Good luck, buddy.

I'm just going to put it this way:
I am a UH student. James Dickey will not make me go to games.

I'll be alum soon. Here's another one for you:
James Dickey will not make me donate.
I'd only donate if I could specify it goes to Kevin Sumlin's glorious football team.

IF Dickey turns out to be UH's BCG, I'll gladly eat a whole helping of crow. But I'm crazy unhappy about this hire. What a dropped ball. Just imagine BCG winning a huge game and going over to the Den for free drinks.

Feb 23, 2010: Nearly two years removed from his six-year stint as an assistant coach at OSU, Dickey is a volunteer assistant coach with the Pioneers’ high school varsity team and the head coach of the Stillwater eighth grade team.

We hired a middle school coach.

Someone, please, put a bullet in my head.
