Tom did a good job handling the situation. As far as his acting and him off camera, on the whole I would rank it all positive. That being said, Cruise does take himself too seriously, and it affects some of the choices he makes in his acting. Sometimes Cruise in a movie will unecessarily strike a heroic or dramatic pose that is just way over the top. He is obviously willing to have no personal life in order live the life of a celebrity and often uses his personal life as a publicity stunt. None of that is a reason to hate him, though.
I would like to carry a water gun around and squirt these A holes and see how funny they think this is.
I'd like to think the confrontation went something like this: You're a jerk, Tom Cruise said with a smirk. Channel4 reporter: Yeah, well, the jerk store called, they're running out of you. Tom Cruise: What's the difference? You're their all-time best seller. Channel4 reporter: Yeah well... I had sex with your [future] wife. Seriously, how the hell did the Seinfeld reference get ignored???
More Tom Cruise Fun: I think this deserves it's own thread, but it might get moved in here so I'll just post here myself. Anyways, I haven't looked back to see if anybody said Cruise "overreacted," but it seems people keep saying things like "you guys are just jealous." I know I didn't say he was in the wrong, I just said I wasn't sympathetic because of how he's been acting lately, once again, this isn't about jumping on couches. Cruise "Tried To Convert Johansson" Scarlett Johansson pulled out of appearing in the second Mission: Impossible sequel after Tom Cruise tried to convert her to scientology, according to reports. Cruise, who produces the action adventures, met with Johansson ahead of casting for the upcoming Mission: Impossible 3 and took her to one of the controversial religion's headquarters, claims Radarmagazine.Com. A source tells the website, "After two hours of proselytizing, Cruise opened a door to reveal a second room full of upper-level Scientologists who had been waiting to dine with the pair, at which point the cool-headed ingénue politely excused herself." Officially Johansson quit the film because of scheduling conflicts after the film was delayed so Cruise could make War Of The Worlds. http://imdb.com/news/wenn/2005-06-21/#4 Katie Holmes seemed to dissappear from friends and family for 2 weeks in April, interesting read:http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,160192,00.html Warner Bros. are in no mood to deal with her and Cruise, so she's been dropped from the sequel to Batman:http://imdb.com/news/wenn/2005-06-21/#2
Ok, that does sound creepy. I mean, I never thought this "romance" was real, but that article makes it seem like the girl's essentially been brainwashed. As far as Holmes not being asked back for the Batman sequel, her character wouldn't exactly fit in plotwise, especially as a romantic interest. And they don't really need her around as the ADA if the rumors are true about Harvey Dent showing up.
yeah, the size of the bank account. and i don't see how he's a bad actor. the last samurai, minority report, and collateral were all good to really good and he was good in them, then there's all the movies PSJ listed, the MI movies, and then of course Top Gun. like someone else said, i've liked everything i can remember seeing him in. not that they were all great, but still fun to watch. and with my boy Spielberg directing it, War of the Worlds will have to at least be decent i would think.
