Sorry for bumping this thread, which obviously got derailed big time. Hopefully we can all ignore it and focus on the craziness of Tom once more. And scientology. Oh yeah...the scientology. Tom Cruise is...? EDIT: The tentacles of Scientology shut that video down pretty quickly, huh? Well Gawker claims they won't fold under pressure. We'll see what really happens when they're faced w/ an army of lawyer ninjas and butt pirates. In the meantime, here it is again: Fight the good fight, Gawker.
I saw that video earlier today. Tom Cruise is bat **** insane. The editing and music in that little bit didn't help. Makes me sad, cause I liked Cruise (at least his movies, anyway) and now have trouble watching him portray a sane person in film.
Tom is nuts. Mimi Rogers is to blame for all of this. If she never introduced him to Scientology he wouldn't be brainwashed.
Damn, what happened in the video? This is what youtube is postion now. This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Church of Scientology International

Chemical imbalances is a result of worsened state of mind, not the cause of it, which is why biological means cannot really cure mental illnesses, proper belief and life style do. Chemicals are not the cure, it's a crutch for the mentally disabled, and rightful so. The thing is, once a man is used to life on a crutch, he may lose the incentive to pursue proper belief and life style. Chemicals make one feels better, provides sometimes much needed support, but also weakens a man inside. It should be treated as a double edged sword.
Everybody needs to see that. I bet his handlers wish they could slip him some lithium. anyone else picture will farrel running around in his underwear thinking he was on fire?
What is an "SP," whatever he was talking about when he starts laughing and saying something about reading about "SPs" in history books.
I actually took time to look this up: Suppressive Person They labeled Hitler as one. But if you go against the church and don't follow their rules, they may label you as one too.
This article from RADAR is an interesting read. Especially the part where Cruise reached the level where they told him the Alien stuff and I guess he was in a "what have I gotten myself into" kind of funk where he stopped going to his auditing and of course the Church had to reel him back in. http://www.holysmoke.org/cos/radar-the-passion-tom-cruise.htm
These are pretty much my thoughts as well. Especially after the whole experience with my ex-fiancee. I'm absolutely positive she had/has some chemical balance/depression/self-worth issues. But the thing is, she WAS getting better, from what I saw. But she had to work at it, and it was hard. Then, she went to a shrink that threw some pills at her... and while that made things easier on her temporarily, when she came out the other end I felt like she had lost what progress she made, that she was back at square one. And that's precisely when the whole cheating thing that ended our relationship happened. I don't think using such treatments is flatly wrong, but I absolutely think that people are WAY too quick to resort to them and take the easy way out. But then, this seems to be true of doctors in general, not just with psychological disorders.

What the difference between Scientology and the other mainstream religions? All of them started with a few ardent followers, and it has grown exponentially over the years. I bet if Jesus and Christianity was just getting starting around these days, people here would be calling them wackos as well. Just because one religion has been around longer than another doesn't automatically make it the better religion.
