Do they have 32 million in dead guaranteed money to Brady at 37 years old? Thought the Pats were smarter than that. I'd check that out.
Yup, check out spotrac, if they get rid of Brady this year they'll eat 32 mil worth of dead money. If they get rid of him next year it's 18 mil, the year after that it's 12 mil. There could be loopholes I don't know about, but unless there is, they are stuck with him.

Tom Brady would have an average offensive line at Houston, and two great wide receivers in Johnson and Hopkins. And of course he can always hand it off to Foster. I usually don't post speculative/hypothetical threads on CF, but I am actually serious about this, assuming it wouldn't take an enormous price to acquire him.
This is the problem we are having by trying to keep playing it safe with our QB position. At some point we have to just take a chance.
Taking David Carr #1 on an expansion team with no line was certainly "taking a chance." Trading valuable picks for a backup QB who had never started in the NFL before... and then extending him after he had suffered a season-ending injury... was certainly "taking a chance." Signing Fitz as a stop-gap is the first "safe" QB move they've ever made... and we all know he's not going to be the QB for the long-term anyways.
only if we include our 2017 1st as well. Brady for 2015 1st & 3rd, 2016 1st, 2017 1st Make it happen Rick!
Why not make it the next 10 first round picks and the next 15 2nd round picks for a 37 year old QB while we're at it.
Hell to the no. Two firsts... And a third. Look if Brady was worth that then the Pats wouldn't do the trade. This isn't the Colts... Where their star QB... Who conveniently usually sucks in the playoffs by the way... Is injured for a year, and the team has a chance to draft the next franchise QB immediately. The Patriots could still win the whole thing this year for all we know. Certainly nobody would be shocked. If Bellichek is willing to give up on the entire reason people consider him such an amazing all time coach... You've offered too much Beyond that... Out of curiosity... Do any ill give you multiple high pick trades EVER work out for the team trading the picks?
Yeah because I know the texans have a rich tradition of great drafts I know it's no way pats trade Brady but if they wanted a 1 and 3 for him the texans would be crazy not to listen.
Ok, if you say so. I got how I see it. I can give you Shaub, but when we had a chance to maybe take a chance (Manning), we stuck with the safe route. But oh well, I'm always gonna root for my team no matter what. I just don't drink the koolaid and be blinded by their conservative nature.
