RIGHT??? Although, I have two that will actually pee in the toilet. Now, if I could teach them to flush...

Since I have two girls, and even before, I always left the seat down and lid down/up...The boy, well, he doesn't always do this and even when he goes, he doesn't lift the lid, but we're learning...

If at a girls house, both down, all the time...

thats nothing, my cat loves taking a dump in my shower....two feet from his litter pan. If not the shower then right in front of my apartment door. I put his water right next to where he goes and he still does it, stupid b*stard.

Where is the lid down, seat up option :p ?

One of my acquaintances was a clean freak, and one day he showed me a little flashlight that emits UV-light. When you turn the lights off in someone's bathroom and turn on the light, you can see urine splashes or is flung EVERYWHERE (if the lid is typically left up when flushed)! If you leave the lid up and flush, basically everything nearby will have urine on it.

At least if you close the lid, it doesn't get your shower curtains/floor/sink/etc dirty too.

Or, you could just not flush.

I keep both up at home because I'm an equal opportunity type person.

My aim is good enough to never have to lift the lid in the first place.
