yeah...I was thinking that. But I told them about the "honey wagons" etc working outside, and telling them that everyone had the problem.....doing my best to describe how it was a coincedense that I happened to flsuh my toilet and realize that the sewer system wasn't working.
Deckard, I've built several houses over the past few years and have done my own plumbing in all but one. Home Depot sells a Kohler model for around $100 here (Boise). There are more expensive models and probably some that flush better, but I've had very good luck with this model. All the models these days have to use no more than 1.4 gal per flush. The Kohler does this, but the tank holds twice that. So, you can flush again immediately if everything doesn't go down, or you can hold the handle down and dump the entire tank to flush the first time. It's pretty easy to replace a toilet. Be sure to replace the wax ring that the base sits on. The only tools you should need are screwdrivers and a crescent wrench.
Aren't you one of the ops in the chat room? KEEP NON-GAME CHATTER TO A MINIMUM!! I hope Dakota doesn't hear about this....
Toilets generally come in 2 pieces. IIRC neither piece is very heavy. I don't know your specifics about not being able to lift but you generally just have to seat the bottom section then set the tank on top, and connect it. I am at home now and can tell you I have a Kohler. I paid about $80 for it and it has worked flawlessly since I put it in. One other thing that I didn't mention above was that I also chose to change out the tubing that connect s the water line to the toilet. My old line was stainless and I switched it out to a flex tube line. The old line was difficult to matchup with the toilets connections. The flex tube was simple to connect on the wall end and the toilet end. All total I probably spent close to $100 for the toilet, 2 wax rings, the flex tubing and some shims to level out the toilet.Well worth the expense as opposed to what a plumber would charge. If lifting is a problem you may be able to ask a neighbor or friend to give you a hand.
there is a difference between Ops and Voiced chatters....Ups is normally voiced cause he helps with the pbp and color.....you have to be voiced or Ops to post while the room is in +m... just clearing up any misunderstanding....
