Funny you should mention that. I just saw on the news that a rodeo committee chairperson was hit by lightning at the one of the trail ride sites this morning. They said he should be ok though.
Your enthusiasm for weather-related events is contagious, my friend. I will endeavor to chase those records with you. With luck, we may indeed meet or even exceed your goal.
Same thing here in Dallas, I got wake up in the morning by thunder, some guy's car alarm even went off because of the lighting.
Last night was bad. On my way home from work, it was just thundering and lightninging <---- so bad. I honestly was scared. I thought a bolt was going to strike my vehicle. I was heading up 290 and it just kept raining down bolts. Yeah, that's about it.
Same here. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as storms go in Austin. I'm pretty sure most of the storm went unnoticed by me - the only thing I truly noticed was lightning flashes as I was trying to go to sleep. I thought the thunder was my next door neighbor banging around in his house like he sometimes does at 2am.
Holy Cow ! Is Houston always this wet ?? I was contemplating a trip sometime in the spring. If it's this wet, I seriously worry about my photo gears.
A while back I was sleeping one morning around 6AM and there was a similar storm going on outside. Lightining struck so close that the Thunder sound was instantaneous and there was a light so bright that it pierced through my eyelids and woke me from my slumber!!!
It was nice today in College Station. The thunder woke me up around 4am or so, and I quickly jumped up and shut down my pc. I woke up 5hrs later and realized the power went out some time ago because my clock was flashing.
Screw all this weather talk. Let it be known all throughout the land that I just bought a $200 pair of jeans.
Yeah, one of those bolts took out our power for the next 7 hours. At least I missed the Rockets losing to San Antonio.
