I had to google 'Toby Keith' because I thought 'surely im crazy to think a country singer is rapping with will smith and wyclef, there must be a rapper named toby keith as well'.

I assume most professional musicians have pretty eclectic tastes. It's the publicists and record companies that mold their persona to appeal to a narrow demographic.

 

Let me get this straight.

So, he's standing there listening to a grown man singing "hip hop the hippie the hippie to the hip hip hop bang bang the boogie to the boogie" and as soon as Will Smith utters the word yellow, he has the presence of mind and pent-up resentment of Asians to immediately pull on his eyes to mock them?

Coz I know for me, when I'm listening to Old School hip hop about the streets of the Bronx, the first thing I'm thinking about is about those damn Asians.

If any word describes Toby it's eclectic, because POLYMATH was taken.

 

Ironically, this incident will most likely INCREASE the number of Asian fans he has simply by getting them to look into who he is and expose themselves to his music.

Might increase his popularity overall. The worst thing he could do is apologize. I think saying he gives "all Asians a side-hug" is pretty funny actually.

 

I don't think so much "hate" but rather "Toby Keith is kind of a dumbass, which we already know." Sounds more like one of them Spanish basketball team thing than, you know, hate crime.

seriously though yall, if you are as big a TK fan as i am than you know that TK's dad served in the army and TK's dad lost his right eye in a training exercise, but still he flew that flag out in his yard till the day that he died.

so maybe all yall TK hatas need to think about that for a second! maybe TK wasnt mocking the asians but giving a shout-out to his deceased father and his eye...think about it HATAS!

The main thing that ticks me off about this is Will Smith and Toby Que---Keith trying to mess up a classic song. I can understand Wyclef being in there, but to me, Will Smith never has represented Hip Hop and obviously Toby doesn't.

 

In Oklahoma, everyone registers as a Democrat but votes Republican.

 

Yeah but people love the irreverent bad ass. Even if their music sucks. How many more people will identify with the guy who gives the PC police the middle finger?

 

while TK probably isnt going to lose any fans over this, the notion that he or anyone would actually gain them b/c he made a gesture mocking asians is absurd.
