Settled issue. Unless Harden has an injury, there's no way the Rockets lose enough games for a top five pick, and we already have enough mid round picks that can't crack the rotation. I don't see how the Rockets would benefit from adding another.
I don't even care so much about the record really. To me it's two important things. 1. One or two breakout youngsters, among PPat/Morris/Parsons/rookies. Someone who could be Scola to KMart level at least 2. Health among Lin, Harden, and Asik going forward. Not a contender, do wish they stay healthy for the future That is all. In terms of records, let it fall where it falls. Even if it's another .500 season and a 14th pick, I would still be happy if youngsters show potential for the future.
Seems like most are in agreement. Like I said, I hold to the same. I hope they make the playoffs even if they don't win it all. Will bode well for the future. Will still be interesting to see if the mood of the board changes at all if they make the playoffs and don't make much noise. Regardless, I still don't get the attacks this thread generated. Seems like the people who actually posted a thought had interesting things to say. Hardly think this thread was worth getting 1 star ratings from people or warranted a poster calling for me to be banned lol.
Before the Harden move, I was of the opinion to tank to get a higher draft pick. The loss of the extra picks changes some of the moves I was hoping we'd be able to make and Morey's PF drunk drafts collection throws things to the point, I'd rather we didn't have a pick at all this year, which if we make the playoffs I think out pick goes to either Atlanta of Brooklyn due to it not being in the lottery. I more or less am going to take it a game at a time, short of Lin, Harden and another player on the team exploding into super stardom playing ability, I can't see us making a lot of noise in the post season so...
You ALWAYS try...until you are officially knocked out of the playoffs...even then you try but in a different way. Young players should always try and the coach should always push the young players to play their best and he should always have the best players on the court. Just don't get old dudes that will do nothing but add a few wins to the team's bottom line. And if you are eliminated, then start resting those you know are keepers (avoids injury) and see if there is anyone that has been buried the bench (behind that keeper that a coach may favor) that is a diamond in the rough. Still try but you have to take a longer term approach because truly the season is over as far as goals go. Now it's time to look and get a head start building for next year.
